Dixie's Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Newton

Called order in. Arrived and paid at drive thru. Was told to park and food would be out in 10-15 minutes. As these are interesting times we live in for employee shortages(not many want to work), I try to be completely patient and understanding. But as the 40 minute mark hit I asked a girl bringing food out to other cars in the parking lot to please check my order. We both went inside, and I was privy to watch her ask another girl about my order and she pointed to it on the counter. The girl I had asked in the parking lot to check, asked why it was waiting. The other girl Said something that I was unable to hear. The girl running the counter said sorry, and handed me my food and turned to walk away. I said you’re giving me food that has been sitting for 30 minutes because of your mistake, and was paid for… And you expect me to be happy? I asked her was she even listening to me as she was working, and she said yes she was hearing everything I said. I said wow I can’t believe this is the service that you’re happy with.

The food is good, the portions are good, and the prices are good, and the employees are always nice....we eat here quite often because it's close and we like their snack pack lunch special (a sandwich, fries, and drink for $5.99..sandwich changes monthly). Their carolina style burgers are good, but sometimes they're not done completely. We like their salt and pepper catfish and shrimp plate, too. I will say while we like getting food from here and we recommend it, if you order more than one or two items, your order is probably going to be wrong. It's been this way since they opened, and even having the manager bring our correct order to our home because it was so messed up, they still cannot get the orders correct....so just expect if you order more than a sandwich, your order will most likely be wrong...if you go in to order, check it before you leave...and if you pay for extra sauces, you have to check that you actually get them. Dont waste your breath asking if it was double checked before bagging, because it may have been, but it'll still be wrong...otherwise, I would have...

I went there to pick up my order. I had 2 different order I Order was wrong and I called them back and spoke with a young on the window. She was very nice. And told me to come back and she would fix it. I got to work and checked my order and the food was not cooked completely the chicken wasn't cooked all the way. The fries were still cold. I called them back and A man answered the phone I was telling him about everything and he hung up the phone. I called back and he answered the phone again and hung up the phone again. I told them I'm 3 minutes down the street. I just called back to get a refund. The same young man I was talking to about the problem told me they don't do refunds and he told me not to call back. I have been coming to this restaurant with my family and my kids. We have never had a problem. We have always had good service everyone was so nice. But this really disappointed me. He was so rude.
