Forty Carrots — Restaurant in Newton

I found this place very disappointing. I stopped here for a late afternoon lunch on a day when I came to the mall for holiday shopping. I had been dreading going to the mall (I rarely go), but shopping had been pretty easy and I crowded, so instead of returning home to eat, I decided to extend the upscale mall experience by having lunch at Forty Carrots. Service was not very attentive. I found it annoying that they substituted regular salsa for the mango salsa that was supposed to come with the dish without bothering to mention it. The shrimp tacos were just okay. The shrimp were the little ones that come in salads, and were served with cooked spinach and tons (too many for me) of onions in soft tortilla shells. I entered and waited to be seated and no one was there so I saw a menu and took it and seated my self. Then I noticed one of the menus had the wrong date on it. I then noticed a lady in the kitchen I said excuse me is this menu valid for today she screamed at me from far no you grabbed it I didn’t give it to you. That was it for about 10 min then another lady the manager Trina came and said “what do you want” I asked her if they have today’s menu she said very rudely you grabbed that menu in your own she told you it’s not today you can’t seat yourself if you waited she would’ve told you. I have never seen such rude attitude in any place let alone at Bloomingdales forty carrots. I nicely asked her to be nice she screamed at me. Went here over the weekend and service was terrible. I know it doesn't take much for them to use the juicer they have, much less memorize 5 recipes of juices... The lady who took our order did not know what was in our juice. Then she put in celery which was not an ingredient. We order a green juice and she made it with 95% beet juice. I told her it needed more spinach, all she did was take my cup and add spinach to the juice. Not only was the lady rude, but she touched her face the whole time then touched the vegetables she juiced. THIS IS COVID AND REGARDLESS THAT IS UNSANITARY... They had a line of people and I didn't feel like trying to get a refund for my undrinkable $10+ juice (knowing that would take another 20 mins) this place is terrible, I would never go back for anything here.
