MEHFIL KITCHEN Skokie, IL — Restaurant in Niles Township

This is a new carry out/restaurant in the Morton Grove/Skokie area. It's in the old location of Badri Foods. They are still renovating and in the process of opening a restaurant but their carry out business is up and running. I was a bit skeptical at ordering from there for an Eid party from a new place but went through with it on a friend's recommendation. We were thoroughly impressed with food and service!! They are trying to replicate authentic Hyderbadi food taste in their cooking. Our event included folks from Hyderabad/Gujarat/Pakistan and all of them enjoyed the food. We had ordered goat biryani, butter chicken, and mutton masala. Mutton masala and biryani were top notch. Butter chicken was a bit watery but it was good. They gave us extra raita and salad which I wasn't expecting. Service was awesome. The owner helped us place the order which was pretty close to what we needed for our event. He kept us updated throughout the process even down to exactly when the biryani would be ready. They were running 15 minutes behind then the promised pick up time and owner was nice to text a couple of hours in advance witj an updated time. He gave me their large warmer to keep the food trays warm which was a nice touch. We are very impressed with food and overall service. We will definitely be ordering from Mehfil again.

Mehfil Kitchen: A Biryani Feast in Skokie Area "Hands down, this restaurant serves the best biryani I've had in the city. Located on Lincoln Ave, Skokie, this restaurant is a must-visit for any biryani lover.

Their biryani is truly exceptional, deserving of all 5 stars. The flavors are rich and aromatic, with perfectly cooked rice and tender, succulent meats. What makes it even better is the incredibly reasonable price and generous portions. You'll leave feeling satisfied and impressed by the value.

Another must-try on their menu is the Apollo Fish – bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. It's crispy, spicy, and absolutely finger-licking good. Easily one of the tastiest versions I’ve had in the area.

It's a beautiful space, they are super nice. They just opened, I think they need to figure things out (IE they didn't have food)

It doesn't seem to actually have food. I went and they didn't have any of the BBQ (about 20% of the menu), so I tried to get butter chicken, they didn't have butter chicken, I asked about another chicken dish, they didn't have any chicken.

Also if you want cold water, just FYI it is a charge.

Like I said it's a beautiful space and they just opened. I suspect they will eventually have a great restuanrt, they just need to figure out the food.
