okay first off I would like to order a pizza exactly like what was given to Catherine Balistreri's bad review with too much garlic on it. I think I would LOVE that! okay but seriously, this is a nice place it's been around forever. I love the old neon sign, I wish I knew how old it was. my family knew the previous owner. you can order single slices to go, but may I suggest if you're in the mood, go ahead and order a whole pizza. a slice of cheese was less than 3.50 I think and a whole pizza is about 16? I forget. it is so much better when it's fresh and comes right out of the oven. anyways we came here on a whim I just felt like having pizza today. the staff was wonderful and helpful and friendly like always. I probably would have ordered dessert if I found a menu but we were so busy talking about the pizza with each other that I forgot. Our group of four just ordered two slices, it smelled so good to our visiting family who just wanted to see the place, I had to go back in and buy the rest of our group slices also. we just had cheese pizza. I ordered their largest pizza before with all kinds of toppings and it was marvelous. there's all kinds of activities going on here like a magician on Wednesdays and karaoke on Sunday nights and there are televisions everywhere. it's really a true sports bar as well. everything was nice and clean, even the outside. we visited on a late Sunday afternoon and nobody was sitting outside so we just took a table with our carryouts and Saturday and nobody asked us to leave or anything which was nice. I haven't had pizza probably in months and this was a real treat for me. I should come back more often.

Great place! Great food! But the Customer Service is the worst EVER! I ordered my food online and used the menu they have posted. They delivered my purchase but neglected to add the garnishes that where on their online menu. I called just to let them know. But the manager got on the phone and stated that I was wrong. That what I ordered had no garnish since January 2017. I read the item word from word from their online menu. And still, this manager wanted to let me know that I was wrong. Basically calling me a liar, like i was just making things up. I was just calling them to let them know that they forgot the lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. That’s it. But this manager has no sense of Customer Service. She said and I quote, “I can only go by what I have in front of me.” And I told her, and I quote “I can only go by the menu YOU have on your website which is in front of me!” She proceded to read my her menu. At this point I was pretty upset that she wanted to argue over lettuce and tomatoes. If you are in the food service and a customer tells you they saw lettuce and tomato on the menu, why argue? GIVE THEM THE DAMN LETTUCE AND TOMATO!!! Who serves a sandwich without lettuce and tomatoes anyway?!? I’m paying $10 per sandwich and no freaking lettuce?!? Why make your customer feel like they are lying and making things up? Customer Service is “GOLDEN” Village Inn. Wake up and train your people better!

What a fun place for relaxing on a Friday night. No cooking and doing dishes and being served good old comfort food like wings, pizza, chicken parmigiana, and chili by a sweet and easy going waitress. A zillion flat screen TVs to watch sports from, a bar that’s bustling on a Friday night with no empty seats and regulars, and a clean bathroom! That’s a nice touch to a local neighborhood bar restaurant to have a clean bathroom…people seem wholesome here…just nice good and down to earth. The pizza was The original reason why we were drawn here because New York City pizza is the best pizza in my Opinion… So it’s hard to beat that along with chewy fluffy crust. Pizza is made to your liking … you can make it as thin as you would like, it’s a really fun feature. Ofc I asked for super super paper thin and it was good. The only problem is that due to the hard water in Chicago, the cross taste like crispy crackers which Some people will enjoy … just not me. The huge $20 chicken parmigiana came out piping hot and the sphagetti had amazing chunky tomato sauce and good crispy garlic bread. I wish you could eat a half portion because it’s way too much food for one person and you don’t always want to take it home because it doesn’t taste as good reheated. Overall would come back bc it’s a good sit down joint and parking is free on the street after 6pm on a weeknight.

September 17th on Wednesday at around 7.20 pm

We were there today evening with my husband and daughter. We usually like to sit outside at the patio. There were no waiters outside and I went inside and let them know that we were there waiting for service. Waited around 5 minutes, somebody came and told us that another person was going to come. After 4-5 minutes, a different person came and brought the menu. The menu was weird because they only showed the wine and beer, and not the entire menu. We had to manually search for whatever food could be on the menu. Not welcoming almostphere, there wasn't any dedicated waiters available. Anyway, I gave my order quickly and the lady brought 3 glasses with plates only. She didnt seem to care much and set the table half-assed. She didn't wipe down the table either, she put glasses upside down the table. The service for today wasn't very hygienic. There were no straws left on table..she was in rush, left us, and we waited for the food for a long time. We ordered calamari and she didn't bring any utensils to the table, she brought just 3 glasses and plates only. After then, I saw another person and asked for straws. He brought to us. My daughter started to eat calamari with hands because she was hungry. For a while later, I saw another person and asked for forks. Seems like nobody is in charge of the patio area despite people sitting there outside. They dont follow up with you at all either. Finally, after 40 minutes, we got pizza... No one asked us if we need anything else.. we ate and I was looking for someone to get a bill. Another boy was around and I asked if someone bring our bill. He came after a while and he brought me just a receipt on his hand. I was surprised not to having the bill in booklet. Then he took my credit card and was lost again. After 7-8 minutes, he came back with my card.... Very poor and unsatisfied service... Only the food was good other than nothing was...

While attempting to gain Yelps 'Mexi-Can' badge, I sought out El Fuego, which sits a few stores down. However, once I arrived to El Fuego it was closed! So instead, I walked a few stores down to Village Inn Pizzeria Sports Bar & Grill. One of my clients works here and always purchases tasty looking pasta from the menu, so I figured that I would drop in to see what other items that had.

I was surprised walking in to see several College football games being showcased on the televisions in the Sports Bar, which kept me occupied while waiting on my order. It gave me that hint that this is a place were you could keep up with any sports game on any one of their televisions displayed.

Village Inn Pizzeria Sports Bar & Grill, has that Sports Bar/Restaurant combination feel to it.

As for their menu it consisted of a number of items typical to any other pizza restaurant (wraps, salads, desserts, wings, burgers, etc), but I was drawn to the sandwich section, which had several selections that caught my eye, such as the Italian Beef, Meatball, B.L.T Club, Grilled Cheese, Philly with Chicken, and the Philly with Steak. Out of those selections, plus others, I went with the B.L.T Club, which was tasty as any other B.L.T Club I have ever had. I would love to return on a later date to try their pasta or pizza because I was limited on time during this visit.

Parking near Village Inn Pizzeria Sports Bar & Grill is not an issue because there are a couple of free lots in the sector, plus street parking and neighborhood parking as well, which is a plus considering it being located near Downtown Skokie. With all said, I hope that this review assists you in any...
