I never cease to be amazed at the various theatre, comedy, and musical productions presented at Skokie Theatre by Madkap Productions. Together, they create shows that garner positive, glowing reviews, from ever increasing audiences, in a limited performance space, with open, general admission seating. This is my 2nd year as a subscriber, and with all the theatres in Chicago, there are plenty of choices closer to my home in Rogers Park. However, Skokie Theatre and Madkap Productions reasonable ticket prices and my travel time are definitely worth the investment in what they do and how they do it. Plus, I also make donations to them whenever possible. If you love and support regional theatre as much as I do, you'll love Skokie Theatre and Madkap Productions. They're an amazing, growing, and ever evolving partnership that I feel are definitely worthy of your support. Thank you for considering...
Read moreI came for "Symptoms May Include" in April 2014. It's a cute little theater, no-frills, and a nice business to have around. It's very narrow, so can be tough to sit close, and the lower set of seats isn't very stadiumed, so I can imagine there being view issues, although there was no one in the row in front of me, so I was fine. The area is great, with lots of free parking. There's Duffy's down the street for drinks before the show, and well-reviewed places in the area for an early or late dinner (Latin American, Afghan, etc.) before or...

The theater is quaint and darling and the actors/actress playing Gary Coleman, Nicky/Bad idea Bear/Trekkie and Princeton/Rob did a fantastic job. Very pleasant to watch. Just a bit bummed that the song sung by Christmas Eve was changed lyrically. The name of the song is “The more you “Rov” someone”. She sang it actually saying the word Love and over annunciating it. That completely took the humor out of song and character. It is written that way for a reason, Not sure why that direction was chosen. Otherwise it was a...
