Recently reopened restaurant in downtown Skokie. I got their Mole Enchiladas and Pechuga Moctezuma, which are both phenomenal. The mole was delicious, full of spice, and it was the perfect pair for chicken enchiladas. The pechuga was creamy and cheesy. The chicken was flavourful and juicy, and incorporating the sauce all together was just a flavor bomb. I really enjoyed both dishes and will be back to try the other dishes as well! Note that it's a cash only, but you can use Zelle. It's also a BYOB so bring your favorite beer or wine and enjoy, cause I sure did.

Holy molé! This place is amazing! Camarones ixtapa, chicken montezuma and enchiladas. I've never had molé more authentic outside my mom's kitchen. We will definitely be going back soon.

Food was excellent! Only downside is cash only. If it weren't for that 5⭐. I don't even mind the BYOB.

If i could give this place 6 stars i would. Amazing, authentic mexican food you cant find anywhere else! Not to mention the service - absolutely exceptional. Thats what really put it over the top. The manager and server billy was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He suggested i try the signature chocolate mole with plantains and oh man could i bathe in that mole. He really listened to what i was looking for and suggested an amazing dish for me. Not to mention it was my first time and i went alone, but he definitely made me forget i was out alone! I will certainly be back for the food, but also to see my new favorite server billy, who happens to work tuesdays and wednesdays on my days off. Love this hidden gem! Rumor has it that they will be opening for lunch and expanding their menu too, so thats another thing to look forward... Overall best mexican place in skokie from service to food to decor. Dont forget to bring cash and a bottle of wine as it is byob and cash only. Definitely worth the atm...

I cannot be happier to have Yolo around. My family has dined there too many times to count times so far. The staff is great the food is wonderful. We have been Wholly Frijoles fans for years and while they are a still fine choice - Yolo is a few blocks away and every bit as good if not better!

Not at all a taco joint but instead we have wonderful authentic Mexican food in downtown Skokie. I was thrilled to see every table full the last time I was there. Family friendly - they even know my son by name.

The place only has 10 or so tables so make sure you get there early or make a reservation. My wish for its success has come true at least on weekends. Another tip - BYOB.

Good luck to Yolo and please give this...

Food was not good and quite pricey. Service was poor. Before our food arrived we got a small bowl of chips clearly not enough for two. The hot(?) souce that came with it was a real joke. It came in a bowl the size of a Chinese tea cup and there was enough souce in it to fill a Turkish coffee cup. We asked for more and the waitress alerted us that that would be extra! I complained to the cook/owner who rudely explained that “salsa is not a bottomless cup.” In no other restaurant have I ever had to pay extra for salsa particularly when the amount provided in the first place is totally inadequate. Nowhere in the menu does it say that salsa is extra. Plus they only take cash I wonder why. Not going...
