I had a bad experience at this place and it is all started with their appetizers. Problem was with their old oil that they deep fried their vegetables, shrimps and gyoza. Those appetizers had strong smell and you could easily tell the problem was with their oil. Seaweed salad was fine, miso soup was fine too, shumai were fine. When I ordered my sushi rolls, it turned up that they were all somehow deep-fried and unfortunately again in that same old oil. I also ordered Nigiri (Yellowtail and Salmon, those were fine). I asked to replace those deep-fried rolls and explained the reason. I ordered fresh salmon avocado handroll and one rainbow, those rolls were fine too. So I asked for the check and I was told that "we have removed Gyoza from the bill" and that I have to pay for everything else. I asked politely to remove the items that I didn't eat, anything deep-fried I basically didn't eat, just tried one piece (some of it didn't even tried just by the looks I could tell it was no good). There was "NO" answer to my request. I explained that I won't pay for the food I didn't eat and explained that this is bad for the business if they offer this old oil based food to other customers, to which of course they replied that everyone loves their sushi. That all wouldn't be enough for me to write this review, but waitress suggested that I take this food home (take out) to which I said I am not going to eat that food and said if you would have tried this food, you wouldn't eat that either. At this point waitress told me, "I am not going to eat this food, because you have Corona..." Yeap, out of nowhere I was told I have corona. I paid, left a tip and left the restaurant. I am going to dispute the charge and only pay for the...
Read moreCame here with a friend excited to try a new place with good reviews. Between the two of us we ordered more than $60 worth of food. When I got my Chicken Terriyaki entree, it seemed off. The chicken was literally grey in color all the way through. It wasn't appetizing. I gave it a taste anyway, but it did not have a good flavor to me. I told the waitress that I didn't like the chicken and asked her to take it back, and I would just order some more sushi rolls instead. She asked if I wanted it boxed up, and again I explained that it wasn't good. She said "ok, but I have to charge you for it". Now I've worked in food service before. I've had people eat an entire meal, then complain about it. I've had plenty of dishes that I didn't love and knew not to order again. But this wasn't edible. Her response was "Everyone who orders, loves this." And maybe it's normally delicious and they were having an off day. I wouldn't have posted a negative review about the taste of the food after being here once, but I have a huge problem with this type of "customer service". I was kind and friendly in my request, and was ready and willing to actually spend more money on sushi rolls than the cost of the dish. Will not come here again. First time and last...
Read moreWe had a bad experience. First, it took them long to take our order. We went with recommended " party 3", where we ordered 46 pc's of rolls. It took long to prepare which is understandable, they are making fresh. Which is not the case. The rice in sushi was dry, like it was old. We expected that 46 pieces would be enough for 2 people, especially when you pay $57. So we paid $73 for mediocre sushi and walked out not full. We did not feel like the service or the food was good so did not leave any tip. Asked for our receipt and walked out. When we were getting in out car the server caught up with us and demanded tip. "Can you put tip"? I said no, to which she asked why? I told her service was not good and food wasn't good either. She said the tip is for sushi man and service not just for her and asked if I can tell that to the cook. And I said - No, I don't have to do that. First of all, it's up to the customer if you want to tip , it's not mandatory. And demanding tip is not good look. The...
