Prices have skyrocketed. We've been going to Ganley's for years as our trip home breakfast destination. Many of the wait staff have been there for years and we've even seen some of the kiddos grow up from being bussers to wait staff. I know inflation has caused prices to rise but it's gotta be more than that at Ganley's. My go to item, the French Dip Sandwich has risen 50% going from $10 which was very reasonable to $15 in the last year. Our children's meals (pancakes) have risen from $6 plus $1 for chocolate chips to $8 plus $2 for chocolate chips. They charge nearly the full price of a 12oz bag of chocolate chips for a few sprinkled in pancakes. I'm not sure what happened to the price of my wife's omelet as it wasn't on the menu the other day because they had a reduced item "missing a cook" menu in service, regardless the price increases have increased our bill by nearly $20 from just a year ago. From just over $40 to just under $60, (we skipped the $6 chocolate chip add on) a roughly 30% increase. Over the last year or two they've added the ability to use credit cards now, which they've never accepted (not sure if they charge a fee, we've always brought cash or check) and added a gift shop. I'm not sure if these things are also causing the prices to skyrocket but it isn't all inflation. If your a regular customer, be ready for some sticker shock. And I don't want people to think it's just tourist town prices. As I've said, my family and I have been going since I was 5, so...
Read moreClosed sign is posted on the door with no explanation as to why. I checked the other entrance and their is the typical cut and paste “If you have not been feeling well.... wear a mask... 50% occupancy....”
Places like this really need to update their info on Google when they are closed down regardless of the reason, I tried calling 6 times over the course of an hour assuming they were busy and eventually just drove over to place an order in person.
If you’re not going to post an update on Google, the least you could do is post a sign on the door explaining why you are closed or an estimated re-opening date.
If I do venture back here and they are actually open then I will update my review! I really do love going to places like this but as I said, a short 1 sentence piece of paper on the door, a voicemail stating you are closed or updating your hours on Google would have negated...
Read moreThey sell old fashioned malts for $7 which is slightly higher than whatever arbitrary malt value I had in mind. But the price became more of spur in my side as the surprise 30 minute wait dragged on. I was informed upon asking at the midway point that a big order was placed inside, just ahead of mine, and that each malt is hand scooped, both adding to the time.
Nonetheless, I was simply wanting to breeze by their outdoor ordering window and grab a malt to go, not stand outside the joint for half an hour. If there's no way to expedite the malt making process and maintain the old fashioned quality, maybe let people know they're going to be waiting longer than usual.
Otherwise, the waitresses were busy on a warm July afternoon and were very kind. The malt itself was...
