The good: The bread was delicious. Soft and buttery. I had high hopes that the food would be this tasty too.
The bad: The place was not very crowded, but when we sat down the table was a bit dirty. Our waitress Natalie took our orders, then came back with our waters and left quickly, only leaving one straw. She dissapeared and I had to flag down another waitress for a straw. The water cups were worn and old, the rim chipped.
Our waitress returned eventually and we ordered beer, pizza and prime rib. The prime rib was flavorless and came much before the pizza so one person of our table was almost done eating by the time the pizza came.
We were told the beer was a blonde, but when it came it was an IPA, which wasn't what we were expecting at all.
The pizza was very disappointing. It had way too much cheese, too many onions. There was a bitter taste to the pizza and I barely finished a slice. I've eaten lots of pizza before, I've never had one that I didn't like until I ate here. I didn't realise pizza could bad, Fillipi's proved me otherwise...
The soup that came with the prime rib - I only took one bite but it tasted like it came from a can. The person who ordered it didn't finish it either. The prime rib was disappointing, it seemed like it was boiled and the taste was bland. For such a high price it was underwhelming to say the least.
The waitress never came back to check on us after she brought the pizza.
At one point someone brought us more water in a new cup which was brand new and in great condition. It seemed strange to me that they would still use the old and worn cups when they have new ones available. To me that showed a team that doesn't have attention to detail and is okay with delivering sub-par experiences to their guests.
When we asked for the check our waitress brought us the wrong table's check and we almost paid $40 more than our order until we caught it. Again, we had to flag down another waitress to get it resolved since our waitress had dissapeared. The waitress was young so perhaps she was inexperienced in waitressing, I hope the team at Fillipi's continues to help her improve and grow - she has potential to be a great waitress.
When I told someone who worked there that I didn't like the pizza they said "it's a hit or miss, it depends on who makes the pizza honestly, the pasta is better." I'm not sure how this place has so many good good reviews, we were so disappointed.

Read moreDon't let the long line fool you, not only is this place creative, it's delicious. The long line goes by relatively quick. Here's the scoop. You enter through an Italian deli and stand in what appears to be a long line (well, it IS a long line). The hostess is taking in smaller groups first so you will be seated faster if you have a small group. I went with my parents, so with the 3 of us we waited maybe 20-30mins. It is worth the wait. You can get individual dishes, but what people come here for is the multi course dinner. You can choose between eggplant parmesan, veal scallopini, and a few others. Then you pick your side- lasagna or cheese/pork ravioli. In addition to this you get soup and salad. Oh, and YOUR OWN LOAF OF GARLIC BREAD. See? Now doesn't that all sound amazing?
Its a ton of food, come here prepared to feast. Soup and salad are yummy, but don't fill up on it. You will then get your own loaf of garlic bread. Again, don't fill up on it yet.
I had the eggplant parmesan which was very tasty. It was not soggy or greasy and the breading was fantastic. The cheese ravioli was also quite good. The sauce was also flavorful as well. Garlic bread- delicious and I definitely used it to mop up the sauce. My mom got the sausage ravioli, which was cheese ravioli with a sausage on top- just so you are aware. My father got the veal, said it was delicious. Of course I washed it down with some chianti which was perfect with the pasta.
Overall, this place is worth the wait. They do not take reservations, so get here at a reasonable hour expecting that you will wait. Come hungy for sure. Service was pretty good, no real complaints about that- everyone was friendly. When you are done, shop around the gift shop and get yourself a...
Read moreIt was dinner time so there was a wait which I completely understand but what I didn't know was that the restaurant was connected a bar area which has its own entrance there was no wait and plenty of open tables. So after waiting for about 15mins they guided us over there. We were attended to quickly but our server didn't seem too knowledgeable. We wanted to know how big their 'Large' pizza was. She went to ask and came back to tell us they serve it with six slices or twelve slices is we wanted them smaller. Which still did not answer our question on how large it was. We asked her what the diameter of the pizza was which she left once again to go ask. After that ordeal we ended up ordering a large with half pepperoni and the other half pineapple with Canadian Bacon. Some time had passed by and a family of five came through that bar entrance, their order was taken, and their food had been arrived. Meanwhile we were still waiting for our pizza. The server came to apologize and said it would be another five minutes. Those five minutes came and went. She apologized once again and brought us a basket of ciabatta bread while we continued to wait. She brought the pizza which to our surprise just looked like a cheese pizza. Even the server wasn't sure what happened so we tried lifting up the exorbitant amount of cheese up and finally saw the little pieces of pepperoni under the pile of cheese. We took a bite of our pizza and it was absolutely terrible. The marinara was very watery. You hardly got the taste of the tomatoes in there and the amount of cheese placed on the pizza drowned the taste of the other toppings. Frozen pizza would have been five stars compared to what...
