Yuzu Japanese Izakaya — Restaurant in Norco

The absolute sweetest owner that takes orders with one other person when I've been in there. Super friendly and attentive. She welcomes you when you come in, and thank you when you leave. Just an absolute most appreciated feeling experience. Not to mention great prices. Love the Bento boxes mine was the teriyaki chicken and California roll. The other was I believe planko chicken and sushi. Excellent value for the money when it comes with a salad with ginger dressing and miso soup. Located in a shopping center with some of the businesses closed in the evening there was more than ample parking in the parking lot. I would highly recommend reservations and they can't seat large parties as it's not a very large dining room. The staff is amazing as well as the owners. They are very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place

Way too overrated.

All raw fish lacks flavor here. The tuna is chewy. Yellowtail is dry, probably fish from a day or two before. Shrimp is overcooked and has no flavor. Tempura is overcooked and soaked in overused oil. Miso soup tastes like cheap miso paste added in tab water. Salad swims in water as well. Hamachi kama (grilled yellowtail jaw) had been frozen for so long it is chewy and reeks the smell of the freezer. Food cost is reduced by putting less fish on the rainbow roll, which made it taste like a regular California roll with a string of raw fish slapped on it.

Don't come here looking for authentic Japanese food. Maybe they are appealing to the patrons in the area? Both the purple cabbage and the potato salad that comes with the bento box is cloyingly sweet. The tempura was not executed well. It was brown because of old frying oil and the batter was too thick. I suspect the sesame chicken was not cooked to order because all the sesame seed garnish was on the platter and not a single piece adhered to the chicken.
