First time trying a African food and super stoked about the experience! It was our first time so we were intimidated, eager, and had no clue what anything was but I knew I def wanted to try fufu. I’d read about it and seen it in videos and no matter what, I wanted to experience it. We asked the guy in front of us what he recommended but it was also his first time. We asked someone at the counter and he said he’d take care of us so we got to taste 2 things and decide and that’s what we got. I forgot the name of it but it was the melon seed one and fufu with a side of yam porridge. So the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. I felt like I was in my grandmas kitchen on a big holiday… it was warm and there was a loving hustle about it. Beautiful and warm environment, when music was playing it was just magical… like I was no longer in humid georgia but somewhere filled with so much life! The beef was tough and dry, so I wouldn’t recommend that but the chicken looked yum and so did the fish. The fufu was fun but I think I’m the future we would be better off sharing a meal because we have left overs and are so full and ready to movie and chill and then bed 🤣😍 the food was crazy tasty with some wonderful spice!!! Honestly, just a happy place with happy food and happy people with happy...
Read moreIt's a Nigeria kitchen. I had their amala special: a plate of amala, abula soup (a mixture of ewedu, gbegiri, and stew), they made it so that you can choose your protein, so I chose mackerel fish, all served by the pretty chubby lady on duty. I like the fact that you can scan their menu using a barcode on glass right at the beginning of their canter structure. That's how I knew about amala special. I would have just had something else. We also got their peanut, it taste very good.
I gave them 4 stars for service for a subjective minor 'error'. I requested a bottle of water, but I took my food to the table because my friend was being attended to, thinking the lady helping with drinks would bring my water. I waited a bit and had to go back to ask for the water before I started eating. While I understand it might be a culture that customers pick up every item at the canter, I would have appreciated it if I was notified to wait for my bottle of water. I'm not particularly holding this against them. It's probably an oversight. I also had difficulty finding their washbasin/sink for washing hand. So, I'll suggest you ask if it's your first time. It's located around the canter where you'll place your order.
Trust me, I enjoyed their food, and everyone was amazing. I'll go back...
Read moreIf you’re looking for absurdly overpriced plates with minuscule portions, this is your spot. The concept of value is non-existent here, and I can’t stress enough how ridiculous the pricing is. Take, for instance, the goat meat—a small portion with barely any meat, just bones, priced at a mind-blowing $5 per piece. I could practically buy a whole goat at a farmers market for $120 and serve up 200-300 decent portions. Now do the math on the profit margin they’re already making.
Yes, businesses need to turn a profit, but this place takes it to an extreme, bordering on outright gouging. The greed is almost offensive. To top it off, the space itself is less than ideal: cramped, unclean, and lacking in basic standards.
The food is below average, very underwhelming. It’s either undercooked, or lacks the real flavor.
Not only will I never return, but I’m also counting on the day when a worthy competitor shows up and puts an end to this nonsense. Avoid...
