Hu Tieu My Tho - VN Noodle — Restaurant in Norcross

Good when compared to I Luv Pho and Nam Phuong restaurants. Taste similar to the Hu Tieu that I used to eat when I was little back in Vietnam. However, they put a ton of MSG in their broths, so if you're sensitive with MSG, I suggest you to look for somewhere else.

Service: Well, it's a typical Vietnamese restaurant, so I didn't get my hope too high, but their service is worse than I Luv Pho. The customer water is surely the tap water without any filter, and good luck on getting your water refill. The servers were super slow even though there weren't too many customers when I came to eat. Once again, this is a typical Vietnamese restaurant, so your service is a hit or miss. You will only see your server 2 times: 1st time is when he/she comes to take your orders, and the 2nd time is when you pay LOL. I came there one night, and my waiter, a young guy with tattoo on his one forearm and had ear-rings on; he wasn't in his mood to serve, I guess. I finished my water and looked at him for 10 mins to get his attention to refill my water, but well, he was playing with his hair the whole time behind the counter. After 15 mins, he came to my table just to take my and my girlfriend's completed empty water cups away without asking if we would like to have more water or not. My family recent came here because they have better foods than the past. However, the services were terrible. Last 5 day, we called about 7:00 pm to picked up foods. When I came about 7:20pm to picked up, the short guy in front desk had an angry face, not any Hello, any question to me, and absolutely not any thank you after that. Today we came in for 4 people, one 4 year old kid. We ordered 4 rice noodle bows. And then we bought Flan cake + 1 corn milk to go. And still the short guy( I'm not sure his name is LUU?) checked out without gave me any information or amount. Then he charged total $84.24 PLUS Service Charge(18%) without asking me or let me know about that extra for service. I still left 15% Tip more ask $8 because I did not know they charged 18% already as $15.16 included to go foods( $19.5 + $6.25= 25.75). We came in yesterday in a group of 7 people. The restaurant were all filled up and we had to wait 12 minhtes to get seated but the guy with glasses was super friendly and worked his way to arrange tables for "a bunch" of us standing at the front. I can see they running short on staff as there were only 2 servers working, one guy and one lady. I thought we would have to wait for another 12 minutes to get served but no the lady came right away with a smile and a bottle of water. So she took our ordered, we all wanted the same bowl: special house rice noodle soup. Food came out pretty fast and steaming hot. It was not our first time there but seeing their efforts to please customers, I thought it would be nice to leave a recommendation.
