Stepping into Isankaya, a cozy Asian Fusion eatery, felt like being warmly welcomed into a family kitchen. The subtle aromas of lemongrass, star anise, and sizzling meats greeted us immediately, setting high expectations that were undoubtedly met.
Ambiance:
The decor is minimal yet charming, with warm lighting and traditional artwork adorning the walls. It feels both modern and authentic, perfect for a casual outing or an intimate dinner.
Food:
We started with the lobster roll, a delightful surprise. The buttery, toasted bread was stuffed with succulent chunks of lobster, lightly dressed with herbs and spices, giving it a luxurious yet balanced flavor.
Next, the fried snapper fish arrived beautifully presented—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The fish was seasoned to perfection with every bite.
The pineapple shrimp fried rice was an explosion of sweet and savory flavors. Served in a well-presented dish combined juicy shrimp, sweet pineapple chunks, and perfectly cooked rice, creating a tropical delight.
Drinks:
The passion fruit soda was a refreshing companion to the meal, with its vibrant, tangy sweetness cutting through the richer dishes. Meanwhile, the Thai tea was a creamy, slightly spiced indulgence that paired beautifully with the fried snapper and rice.
Service:
The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain dishes to newcomers and offering thoughtful recommendations. Service was prompt, and every dish arrived at the perfect temperature.
Value:
The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, making it an excellent spot for both quality and affordability.
Final Thoughts:
Isankaya is a gem for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine with a twist. The addition of standout dishes like the lobster roll and pineapple shrimp fried rice ensures there’s something for everyone. Whether you're new to Thai flavors or a longtime fan, this restaurant offers an unforgettable experience. Highly...
Read moreWhen we arrived at Isankaya, a Japanese and Thai fusion restaurant, we didn’t quite know what to expect. However, the cozy and inviting interior decor set the tone for what turned out to be a delightful dining experience.
I started with the Tom Yum Shrimp Soup, and it was nothing short of amazing. The balance of sour, savory, and spice was impeccable, making it clear that the broth wasn’t just a mix of premade paste but crafted from scratch. The jumbo shrimp were perfectly cooked—juicy and tender, not overdone—and the soup arrived steaming hot, which was perfect for the chilly weather.
For my main dish, I chose the Nam Tok Beef, and it exceeded all expectations. The beef carried a delightful charred, grilled flavor that paired beautifully with the tanginess of lime, the depth of fish sauce, and the fresh kick of mint and spices. Every bite was perfectly seasoned, with no single flavor overpowering the others.
While I didn’t sample items from the Japanese side of the menu this time, the dishes I tried left a lasting impression. Isankaya’s dedication to balance and fresh flavors has made it a place I’ll definitely return to. Highly recommend for anyone craving a cozy fusion...
Read moreI dined-in here on November 1 of this year and this place did not disappoint ! I did feel bad cause it seemed like there was only one chef and one server running the restaurant but they provided great service and food was very delicious ! I came here with a large group of friends so of the dishes to recommend trying would be the Drunken Noodles, Pad See Ew Noodles, Pad Kra Pao, Curry Puff appetizer (I had the veggie option), and Tom Yum Soup (you know it’s really good when I say it’s better, if not the same great taste as my Asian mom’s recipe😉🤫). The sushi options were decent but I preferred the Thai dishes more. If you decide to order the Boat Noodles or Tom Yum Soup, it is a hefty portion so come hungry 😂 I did order again a few days later, but, through Uber Eats. Sad to say that my delivery was missing the Apple Soda I ordered but I had everything else that I ordered and the food still tasted great. I do recommend also trying their flavored in-house sodas and the Thai Tea. The fried banana dessert and mango sticky rice was not too sweet but I do prefer the sesame fried banana style more. Overall, great prices and great portions for...
