K&G Fashion Superstore — Local services in Norfolk

Well, while others are having issues getting help I felt as if I received to much. I thought I would get a different experience here and I did. Normally when I walk into other places I am ignored or talked to like I don't know how to wear clothes other than jeans and hoodies...here I got measured after telling the employee my neck size and that I normally get a larger neck size due to my stomach. I was asked to follow a young man that handed me a shirt to try on. I felt stereotyped because I was wearing jeans and a hoodie. I did not ask to be measured because I knew my size already. That bothered me to the point that I am think about it a day later. To fix this let's try asking if I need a measurement and not have me waste time. If I was standing in the isle to long then it was probably cause I was deciding on a color or I was looking for a certain sleeve length, that was not there. I used to enjoy the K & G store. Having relocated from Maryland i was happy to have found a location in norfolk but over the years the service has dropped off considerably. In jan of 23 i needed a suit. Normally i could go in, find one, have it tailored and be good to go. Not that time. The alterations were terrible. The timeline given was missed. No empathy nor apology was given by the tailor. I escalated it to a manager after the 2nd tailor supposedly corrected the issue but didnt. I figured maybe it was a 1 off because normally the service has been good so i gave them another try this week. Same exact thing. Missed the timeframe they quoted me for completion. Then the alterations were completely off which i asked the tailor how could that be when he was the one who fitted me. Again no empathy and no apology. I had to waste another hour and 1/2 out of my day while he corrected his work. If you buy here i would take your suit or clothing elsewhere now to get the alterations cared for. Once is a mistake, twice in a period of 9 months is a concern. Ive learned...

The staff is so helpful. They helped me pick out the perfect outfit to match my wife’s dress. That she bought somewhere else. All the way down to the shoes and the cuff links. I will definitely be shopping here again.

UPDATE: I had to change my rating. The shoes I bought, tore after I wore them for an hour. Took them back to get an exchange not a refund. The female cashier I talked to would not let me exchange them she got very rude and acted like I was wasting her time. She kept telling me store policy is to only take back undamaged merchandise. So I made sure I was clear, I’m here because your merchandise was faulty that’s why it’s damaged. After realizing that I was arguing with young lady with a very low IQ I told her to throw the torn shoes away and I left. I will not shop here again. If the service I received on my first trip wasn’t so good I would’ve definitely gave them one star.
