Lin's Garden — Restaurant in Norfolk

The food was poor - I thought I would try something different from my usual "Go To" Chinese source - GrubHub gave me $10 credit to try them out. As a retired chef my take on the food was that the crew has lost there desire to pay attention to the details and put out good quality food (if ever they have?). The oil that was used in preparing the food that I received ruined the food (Egg Foo Young). The oil was over used and was being absorbed into the food - old oil is not a nice taste. The Hot & Sour Soup was easily the worst example of this soup that I have ever had. There was something in the soup that gave it a bad flavor as well as being bland. The BBQ wings were soggy and the sauce was not a Chinese style sauce. I wish there was something good to say about the food but there just isn't. I notice the restaurant has a lot of bad reviews - so I am not the only one. Apparently this is just not a good restaurant. This may be a little harsh but whoever cooked the food that I received does not know how to cook. They did get the food delivered in a timely manner on a Friday night. Usually I give a second chance (at least). Anyone can have an "off" night. However, with the large volume of bad reviews they must have a lot of off nights. I don't think there is any need...

Ordered through Grubhub and the order was on time. Otherwise, this is the most expensive and bland food I've ever had! The General Tso's was tasty but ordered mild spicy and nothing spicy about it. The white rice was the best item (and that's not a good thing). Pad Thai was the worst-ZERO flavor. The lemon pepper wings were ok-at least had a little flavor but tasted like there was another seasoning besides lemon and pepper (threw me and the bf off). Wonton Soup broth-flavorless. Chicken teriyaki was tender. The fried rice was yellow rice with one flake of an onion and absolutely ZERO flavor. Also, no soy sauce, duck sauce, etc provided....

They should be ashamed of having such poor food. Not to mention if there is something wrong with your food they will do nothing about it. Over charge for a minimum delivery! Bland, dry and appalling I wouldn’t let my dog eat their food. I ordered dinner from there and it was so bad I couldn’t stomach it. Never getting food from there again and I hope grub hub removes them from their site because they shouldn’t be open with how bad of experience it was. Poor food quality, will not refund or redo orders, obviously doesn’t care about...
