This is the closest Dollar General to me . I am disabled. I can walk but shaky the workers are always very friendly, but they seem to have an issue with putting things away off of the carts that you have to navigate around either. You need to hire more help or stop ordering so much if you can’t get it put away.. and at working into settings like this most of my adult life, they send you things that you didn’t order if your store isn’t selling like it’s supposed to stop sending all the crap that you sent that you put it that has to get in the aisles it’s ridiculous other dollar generals are not like this What is up with this location? It has a Family Dollar, a small Chinese food restaurant, a Barbershop, an ABC store (Alcohol Beverage Control/a.k.a liquor store, a tobacco store, and a Citi Trends. Its great to go if you want some inexpensive items on the cheap.But if you aren't a Norfolk native, you need to understand: THIS SHOPPING CENTER IS IN THE HOOD. So, be careful after dark and lock your car during the day. People selling bootleg movies might approach you in parking lot. There is a Food Lion next door which is a decent place to shop. Read moreI have watched this shopping mall struggle over the last 15 years as the area around it gets gentrified. Once Food Lion attemped to keep up but now the selection is low quality because people who could afford better avoid this shopping mall like the plague. However, the mall serves a critical need for the area in west Park Place full of illegal boarding houses. A big problem once the city turned it back on saving this neighborhood in favor of eventual purchase by ODU or a plow and redevelopment solution.
