BLUF - This place is AMAZING. Great drinks, great food, great ambiance, and phenomenal staff.
The drink selection is varied and balanced in all types of wine and beer offerings, and they feature a lot of local Hampton Roads breweries/wineries, which I like to see.
The food is killer. Menu items of note are the Blueberry & goat cheeseburger (crazy good), the Shrimp Po Boy (sizable shrimp and plenty on the roll), the Pork belly tacos (good marinade), the Loaded waffle fries (big portion and lots of brisket), and the Street corn dip (SO GOOD). And there's still plenty of delicious-sounding items on the menu that I haven't tried.
The ambiance is equal parts chill and cool. Brewery vibes, but with a pretty, modern, carefully detailed aesthetic, and a rooftop bar with tons of seating and tons of heaters (and I'm always cold...)
But the best part about The Ghent is their customer service. They are incredibly accommodating, they check in with their patrons frequently but not too much, they clean up often, and everyone on staff is SO NICE. I was part of a group that needed to host an event on a Tuesday night, the one day The Ghent was closed. They were so gracious about helping us by opening up for the night, and they supported all the whims of a ton of people with total professionalism. Our attendees had nothing but compliments on the venue, so a complete win for us.
Go here. Right now....
Read moreSmall roof top bar with great choices for drinks, They have a seasonally rotating tap with a solid selection The food was good it's ordered through a QR code at your table it had pretty quick turn around it was sorta expensive, I had the buffaloe chicken pizza with no bleu cheese and cauliflower crust the pizza was good the chicken did taste like it was pre prepared and or possibly frozen the flavor of the base and the sauces were good though, mozzarella logs had an option to be tossed in a sauce I went with Korean BBQ which turned out amazing the marinara wasn't needed. Also tried the hell peno burger had a good flavor with the pepper jam and pepper jack and the waffle fries tasted fresh and not too oily. The taps I tried and recommend was the boozy soda's the cream soda and the grape and the Kirin for beer and for IPA two hearted ale is my absolute favourite IPA the taps do give you a bit of foam that you have to wait to settle but beyond that was a good experience
The atmosphere could use some updates lights weren't strung out in all sides and the couches seem like a hot commodity but unfortunately they were taken up by parties of single people, the picnic tables were comfortable though.
They do have a shared parking lot with the other businesses we parked across the street and walked over...
Read moreThe Ghent Rooftop is truly one of my favorite places, and Raina and Wayne are a big part of why. Every time I’ve been here, I’ve been welcomed with genuine kindness and warmth. Their staff is friendly, attentive, and always makes sure everyone feels taken care of—whether it’s making sure guests are fed, hydrated, or just having a great time.
The food is consistently good (even when I DoorDash it!), and they always have a great variety. Plus, the self-pour tap wall is such a cool feature—you can always find something new to try.
Raina in particular goes above and beyond. She’s thoughtful, professional, and pours so much effort into every event. You can tell how much heart she puts into making things run smoothly and ensuring people feel comfortable. Wayne and Raina make an incredible team, and it really shows in the atmosphere they’ve built at The Ghent Rooftop.
If you’re looking for a space that’s not just beautiful but run by people who truly care, this is it. I can’t recommend...
