Not my choice of pizza places, the crust is mushy and I find it pretty flavourless in general. My mum loves this place though.
Service was slow so we were mainly waited on by the manager, unroll she left and someone else took over. Unfortunately the tip went to the second person, who was much less deserving of it, I'm sure because she rung us up.
They are known for their French salad dressing, if you're looking for another they do have some other options, but not many inn the light or fat free category. The salads are basically just iceberg lettuce, with a bit of shredded cheese and a couple tomato slices; if you're into that.
The garlic bread is really good and the bread sticks with cheese sauce are good, but I only like the pizza with Tabasco sauce to give it some flavor.
The night we went there was a big group of high school cheerleaders there who weren't too badly behaved, but they did start to get loud and annoying given this location is small. They were getting out of their seats and moving around between tables and sitting on each others laps, taking "selfies" and leaning over the backs of booths once they finished "eating" while their coaches were still eating. They then left complete baskets of wings untouched, personal pizzas barely touched, and a disaster of napkins and other things around. I felt bad for the wait staff having to clean up after them, and the fact that their disaster took forever to clean taking away from the other customers. Not too mention the waste! But that wasn't the restaurant's fault.
My biggest complaints are it's bland and mushy with a 95% iceberg lettuce salad and I feel like I need to provide my own salad dressing and...
Read moreMy 78 year old U.S. Navy Veteran father with dymentia that enjoys sitting in their Big Beautiful Corner Booth looking out towards Main street. He enjoys watching the traffic going by. We have dined here roughly 5 or 6 times and never ever been given a flat out denial to usage of that booth due to parties of 6 or over. Recently I was very unproffessionally denied that booth for my father and one of our good friends. We were then seated at the smallest booth they had in the other corner. I am 6'5"'s tall. My Father is 6'3"s tall our friend being 6'3"'s as well. I was denied the corner booth while I watched as No one that came to their dining room was allowed to dine at their most attractive table the entire time we were there. We were shown today that our patronage wasn't worth giving us the table we wanted. The same manager allowed us to sit there the visit before. I am very dissapointed in this young man. Shame on you. My father is an exceptional human being & we did not deserve the managers dimeanor or denial of that booth. We will not be returning to Monical's based on this experience. Once again our Waitress was AWESOME though thank you for such an exceptional treatment. I was aware instantly you were raised right Ma'am. Your manager could learn more than a few...
Read moreI always do business with a place twice before I leave a bad or mediocre review, and I really wanted to like this Monical's because it's so close to home... However, during both visits the service was awful. We had a nearly empty restaurant (my party and one other table), and we only saw the server to take our order, drop off food, and pay the check. We had to ask the server twice for a different salad dressing (we received the incorrect one), so we had to wait until the pizza was delivered and ask again. We never got drink refills, because we never saw the server again until it was time to pay. We waited about 15-20 minutes after we finished eating until the server came by with the check.
I'm not sure if this is a training or server issue, or if this restaurant is using the servers for other tasks when they aren't on the floor, but either way, we won't be back.
Food was good. Great thin crust pizza. But, I would rather spend my money somewhere that prioritizes customer time...
