Listen to me now and hear me later! This legendary spot is one of the best kept secrets of Oklahoma’s old school places to eat and just kinda “be”. I appreciate all things old school and “how they should be”… This little culinary gem is a prime example of that. It’s like a hippy and a Jewish deli owner got married and started a business and you are the beneficiary of sandwich and soup that achieves “excellent” status!
If you eat here and don’t try the potato salad you have made a grave error and I am going to have to question your credibility on all things food or food adjacent. Make good choices and eat this potato salad. Eat it slowly. Shed a tear for yourself, because if this is the first time you are eating it….. you have sorely missed out on something special. You deserve it.
I had the New York Deli Classic. Pastrami that has attained the level of mana. That’s all you and your kids, family and weird work friends need to know. If you do not try this sandwich, I will come to your home and let your pets go and dump your neighbors’ trash bins into your yard.
You have been told.
Do something about it.

Read moreI've lived here over a decade and had never been in, but I keep hearing about it. Finally decided to try it today, and it was meh. Not bad, not good, just acceptable. I placed an online order for pickup , chose the special with chips and a drink, and tried the Vulcan. The sandwich was decent, however it's tiny and I could make better at home. The cheese was cold and congealed, matter of fact the entire panini style sandwich was cold. They were out of the chips I wanted, and the drink, an Arnold Palmer, didn't include a straw and the ice was watery, even though I arrived 7 minutes early, even after it took over 10 minutes to park. I paid $16 for sandwich, chips, and drink that I could get at Sprouts for $7. If I wanted to spend $16 again, I'd just go get Tino's and get 3 times the sandwich, 3 times the quality, and be full. I don't think I'll try it again. Too expensive for the meager portions and mediocre sandwich you get. Seems to me that most Norman staples are just mediocre to bad. I keep finding Oklahomans have either terribly low expectations, or aren't...
Read moreAfter living in Norman for over 20 years and hearing great things about Midway, I finally made my way in. This place definitely lives up to the hype. All the employees are super personable and friendly, even with business being quite busy.
The food was also really great. I got the Vulcan sandwich and it was everything I could ask for. Fresh, crispy toasted sourdough, with a nice sweet chili mayo, piled with meats. The avocado and tomato added a nice refreshing bite.
I also got a side of potato salad and I was well impressed with it. It definitely looks and tastes homemade with a great creamy taste.
The small compact eating area just adds to the cozy atmosphere, and if the inside is too small, they do have a nice outdoor seating area.
I have definitely found my new weekly lunch spot for years to come!
10/10 would definitely recommend...
