Mr. Sushi — Restaurant in Norman

I ordered to-go and picked up my meal, so was unable to bring my concerns to the chef.

I ordered three items: seaweed salad, spicy tuna (yellowtail) roll, and salmon nigiri. I order these items regularly at other restaurants, so I have a good idea of how they're supposed to taste/be.

Quantity: Seaweed salad - as you can see from my picture, I received very little seaweed salad. It barely came up to the halfway mark on this small container (maybe 6-7 small bites worth).

Spicy tuna (yellowtail): I modified the spicy tuna so that it would contain spicy yellowtail and paid $2.00 additional to the regular price $7.00. So I paid $9.00 for this roll. As you can see, there is barely any fish in each of the bites. One of the end pieces had no fish in it at all.

Salmon nigiri: this style of sushi typically comes with a piece of fish on top of a ball of rice. The pieces of fish I received were very thin.

Quality: Overall the quality was not that bad. For the price, I the quality seems OK, but really nothing special. The seaweed salad was soaking wet. I realize seaweed salad usually comes frozen to restaurants and is thawed. It seems that Mr. Sushi didn't drain the liquid at all which leaves an unpleasant soupy experience.

I've eaten here before, and the quality did not lack this much... I don't know if they were just low on yellowtail and salmon.. or what but it doesn't look good. Looks like they're skimping on the portions...

We were happily surprised! We like to try new restaurants all the time for the sushi rolls and this place has MORE than enough of that! The rolls are wonderfully made and very filling for a good price (we got the spider roll, Gyoza, salmon roll, spicy salmon roll, and two taiyaki and our total about a little $40+) the place is very cozy! If you're looking for more than rolls they have a small portion of the menu that isn't rolls (like Ramen and bentos) but I like the variety of rolls and how good they were! Our waitress was also really nice and the drinks were easy to find on the front of the menu!l. (it's always bothered me how hard it is to find drinks in menus because it's usually a small corner somewhere in the back and it's the first question any server asks in a restaurant)10/10 would recommend for any...

Our waitress was incredibly friendly and professional. The management was less than accommodating. My kids are picky eaters so we asked if we could sample some of the ramen broth, management said no. I had never heard of this, but we decided to roll the dice and order anyway. The kids liked the ramen. The sushi was very poorly prepared, but tasted well enough. I had the renegade roll and the rainbow roll. Within an hour of leaving the restaurant my stomach began to cramp. Within two hours of eating there i became violently ill and it lasted a solid 18 hours. Norman has a few really nice sushi places. This is not one of them...
