Pho House — Restaurant in Norman

We’ve dined in before and the cleanliness is lacking. The tables were sticky and also oily, the floors and seats littered with debris, especially in the corners of the seats. It’s clear that hardly any sweeping under the tables happens, and it looks like there is hardly ever any deep cleaning that goes on.

Today I got take out and was disgusted to walk up to the counter where my to go bags were only to see the employee eating his own pho at the counter next to my bags. He even had a piece of noodle stuck on his lips!!

Have these employees been to a food handler’s class?? Not eating your food next to customer’s food is food handler 101. He should have been at his own table eating, or in an employee break room, not at the front counter. I can bet m my entire lunch he didn’t wash his hands after he finished eating either. I don’t care if my food is in a plastic bag. It’s gross and it’s gross to think he could have handled my food during his own lunch with dirty hands.

The lack of cleanliness, and lack of care for the possible spread of illness or disease, here is concerning. The health department should visit and inform them of what could happen to the public’s health by allowing these things to happen.

I was excited about a new Vietnamese restaurant in Norman. The service was wonderful, but I can't say that for the dish I ordered. I ordered the Sesame Chicken with rice and veggies. I thought the chicken would be crispy. The chicken does have a light batter but is not crispy. Unlike the owner's photo, my plate had more veggies and rice and a small portion of chicken(with too much sauce), so I was filling up on mostly veggies. I also ordered the pork egg rolls. They came out really hot, so it was difficult to taste any seasoning that went into the egg rolls until the next day, so they tasted bland. The egg rolls that I was served were not fried in a fryer (like the ones on the company's website photo) but seemed to have been placed in an air-fryer because the wraps were dry, view photo below. I did not like the dipping sauce for the egg rolls, which I thought was bland. However, I will say my husband thought the pho was excellent. Order Mistakes and Poor Service

I ordered food to go because there were no available seats. When a seat opened up, I asked to dine in instead. However, my order was delayed, and the server told me that my order come out later than dine-in orders because I switched it, even though I had switched before others arrived. It took 30 minutes to get the food.

I ordered rare steak pho but received brisket instead. When I pointed it out, they brought new pho with the rare steak separately, but the broth was not hot enough to cook it properly. The vegetable sides were also missing. When I requested a refund instead remaking it, the server blamed the delay on my switch to dine-in and said, "I can give you a refund so you can walk out." instead of saying sorry. The response felt dismissive and unprofessional.

Additionally, my spring rolls sat on the counter for a long time before I received them.
