I love this Panera Bread location. BUT ... It is my favorite PB store. Great food! Friendly staff. The new self-order kiosks are convenient, helpful with information about the food you're ordering, and very fast (skip the line!). I love the PB fast-casual concept; the clean, healthy food; and this busy store in particular. BUT I'm getting really tired of going into this location mid-afternoon and it is just filthy. Junk on the floors. Most tables dirty. Tables with other folks' trays, bowls, mugs, etc., just sitting there. Seats so sticky and dirty you can't sit on them. Napkins and trash under the tables for hours. The beverage fountain area is a wet, sticky mess. The bins for the beverage cup lids are sprinkled with crumbs and trash. The coffee bar is littered with sugar, paper scraps, etc. The bus boxes are full to overflowing. Ditto the trash bins. And the floor is trashed behind the serving counter. Just dirty. We won't talk about the rest rooms. And no one is around, working on it. Staff walk right by the mess and make no effort at all to clean it up. The manager apparently doesn't know, or worse, doesn't care. If this happened once, or even twice, I'd write it off to a super busy day, not able to catch up with the rush. But this condition is actually pretty consistent at this store. (I can't speak for other PB stores.) Which tells me two things. First, there is not enough staff mid-afternoon to stay on top of a clean store. Second, there is an obvious lack of value by management for a clean store. Seriously. (Which might indicate that management re-training needs to happen, as surely as staff re-training needs to happen.) Too bad the sticky, messy, dirty condition of this store mid-afternoon spoiles the overall dining experience for the customers who expect and deserve better from PB. I'm looking forward to seeing this fixed. And I'll write a 5-star review when I see it fixed.
[PB used to have a customer Comment Board on their website where costumers entered a receipt number and store number and could communicate directly with management. No more. So, very public, embarrassing tools such as Google Reviews are necessary. Maybe PB should reinstate the more private Comment Board....
Read moreI'm a health care provider that has to travel for work and needed a place to sit and have some breakfast while I work on the computer this morning around 745 AM after working and being on the road for 3 hours at this time. Looked on Google to see the hours of this Panera - stated it was open. Got to the building and the hours on the door also stated that this is open during the week at 7 AM, but the doors were locked. There was an employee at the cash register, I waved to her in signal to say, "Are you not open?" She waved back in signal to say that they were not open. She was busy and did not have the time to come to the door to speak with me. I went back to my vehicle and called to ask what time they were open. The staff member said they open at 11 AM today. Confused as to why google and the doors outside the building state 7AM. No big deal, I understand there is a staffing shortage with jobs EVERYWHERE. I found a Dunkin Donuts I could drive to and work at instead. My real issues was this -
Upon leaving the parking lot I noticed a man outside of the building looking in from the outside . I wondered if he was another customer who did not know that they were closed this morning, so I drove by and told him that I was just informed they weren't open until 11AM. This rude, disheveled person turned around and yelled at me, "IM WORKING!!!!!!" I was absolutely beside myself to know that an employee would do that. This person did not look like an employee, that is why I tried to be nice and let them know the information I just received. I am absolutely BESIDE MYSELF with the interactions of this Panera Bread. I have never had this experience with any café/restaurant employee before, but I can promise you I will not be back at this location.
Words of advice for Panera - update your hours so you don't have people like me looking for somewhere to go, and also, maybe speak to your employees on having a little bit more...
Read moreMy sisters and I went to get Panera for dinner we each spent around 20 dollars for our meal and decided to get a pastry after we ate. We were looking at the display case and the girl comes to take our order my little sister orders a pumpkin muffin and pays and my older sister and I were going to get cinnamon rolls and when she saw us still at the counter she says “are you all gonna order separately” with an attitude as if it was so inconvenient for her to have to do her job. I then go get a to go back for my leftover food because I was holding it in my hand as she’s getting the pastries she comes back and I am putting my chips in the bag and she looks at us and loudy says did you just take those cookies (the ones in the basket on the counter) we look at her like no and I show her my bag had my leftover food. Why would we buy deserts if we were gonna steal cookies? Then she says I just need to know how many if you did so I can count it towards inventory still trying to blame us for stealing while there were over 10 people seeing in the restaurant. It was so humiliating and the manager Lisa gave me a $10 credit like if that makes up for the embarrassment we experienced. On top of that while she was taking our order she asks another worker who was working very hard to get her a drink! I should’ve said did...
