My boyfriend and I accidentally stumbled on the Black Doll Museum tonight on the third floor of Emerald Mall. They had a glorious Christmas display with a place to meet Santa, and I think Barbie too! And numerous wonderful Black Santa dolls and hundreds of black Barbie dolls. The woman who greeted us was so welcoming and friendly. Read moreReally extensive and informative museum. I love how the museum shows you the history of race relations through the eyes of children. I love how far we’ve come. I love the hope to grow even more in love and community.
I also learned that we used to have dolls made with Cellulite. 😂
It was $15 to tour, and the docents were incredibly helpful (as you can here in my video).
It is on the third floor and there is plenty of parking and elevators or escalators. Fully accessible.
They’ve only been open for three weeks, so I know it will get busier, but I was grateful for the quiet to take my time and read.
