My visit to Patel Brothers for grocery shopping was unfortunately overshadowed by an unexpected element - the store's choice to play loud Hindu religious music. This music, featuring lyrics with names of Hindu gods, dominated the atmosphere, making it more akin to a religious venue than a grocery store.
As someone who values a secular and neutral shopping environment, I found this choice off-putting. I was trying to grab a storage box that I couldn’t reach. I jumped to it and it fell down. I picked it and put it in my basket. The sound of it falling attracted a man who’s starring at me with mean looks. I explained him what happened and told him I picked up the one that fell down to be fair. I had to ask him if at the end of the aisle if everything ok, and he nodded his face left and right with same mean looks. Not sure he meant I’m culprit there or I was fine. I understand I should’ve asked someone to help me grab the stuff I couldn’t reach. But He could’ve been a...
