El Fenix Bakery III — Restaurant in North Bergen

After waiting on line for over 10mins for the 3 employees to dispatch the 3 customers in front of me I asked for my order (placed over the phone)by name and was quickly asked for a receipt/order number...then was promptly jumped over to the Next customer while I looked for an order number they never gave me over the phone. Then they couldn't find the order &asked me what my order was 3X before they found it and gave it to me. Then asked if I had a bag for the bread.... SMH a bag would cost me another .25 cents. This is America not Cuba. What happened to the cost of doing business and covering ALL your expenses in the pricing of the items including a BAG. Won't be coming back here for a loooooong time. There are many Cuban bakery's in this area to be dealing with this petty nonsense. Happy...

The worst customer services ever. I came to buy a cake for someone birthday. From the GET GO the girl that works there tell me I CAN'T write anything on it without me asking her .When she start putting the cake in the box I asked HER can I SEE how it looks with tiny little sign HAPPY BIRTHDAY before u close the box and she was ignoring me like my MONEY don't have any value finally she let me see it. I told her can I GET THE BIGGER HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIGN I will pay extra if I need 2 and her answer was NO . The other girl asked her what happen ? Because she noticed something wasn't right but I couldn't hear what she said but I LEFT the cake right there at the counter. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. Was so happy to find this bakery. I found the service to be good and the pastries to be amazing! The croquettes and guava pastry are easily the best I've had. The Cuban bread was amazing as well and wish I bought more than 2 but I'm only one person. If I didn't live so far away I would be back more often but I will be back as much as I can. Too bad this wasn't here when I lived across the park 20 yrs ago. Thank you for some wonderful treats and making my day!!

Update Oct 2024: Much busier now than it was during my first visits but you can clearly see how hard to the women behind the counter were working. Norma helped me and she was fantastic even though it was so busy. Food was just as great as I remembered and I continue...
