I went to the Flower Child Bethesda, MD location on 1.22.22 around 7PM. Prior to my horrible experience, I loved the ambiance and the healthy, fresh delicious food. I noticed since Ally left, the location has gone downhill. The front staff are rude, arrogant and unwelcoming. The food tastes off as well. The number one reason I will no longer patron this establishment was my recent visit. I arrived to an unfazed staff member taking my order. I sat down to wait for my food with my daughter and noticed the manger along with the line cook and another female colleague had their face masks pulled down laughing, talking and eating where they were preparing the food. I was in total shock and disbelief that the manger was partaking in all of this. On top of all of this, the line cook kept touching his mask while handling food. This is definitely a code violation, unsanitary and putting peoples lives at risk whether it’s food poisoning and COVID-19. We are still in a pandemic where people are sick and dying. To add insult to injury, when I asked I wanted a refund due to unsanitary conditions I firsthand experienced, the manger had a sad excuse. He said himself he knew what he did was wrong but stated it’s hard having the masks full time. I understand wearing mask full time can be a hassle. However, you can go to another location or outside away from people and food and take a break to move down your mask for a breather. YOU DO NOT take off your mask, eat, obnoxiously talk and laugh where you prepare patrons food. I am not ok with added fillers such as your saliva and germs. You also remove gloves when they are soiled IE touching your mask. This is common sense. I’m horrified of what I saw took place. So disappointed and will never dine with them again. For a health food institution, you should be ashamed. For others, if you care about your health and the wellbeing of our community demand they take better caution or...

From the moment I inquired about hosting a party for 13 guests, the team at Flower Child was very accommodating. Though they don’t typically host private events, Marcus, the manager, welcomed our group with enthusiasm and worked with us to ensure everything was seamless. He helped us select the right space and designed the pricing structure to be budget-friendly.
We came for dinner to sample dishes beforehand, and when we mentioned that the Brussels sprouts were too salty, Mary, the executive chef, adjusted the seasoning for my party, achieving a perfect umami balance. The level of care and flexibility they provided made the planning process effortless.
Our catered menu included four sides, three proteins, and a variety of drinks. The food was not only beautifully presented but also delicious, with thoughtful accommodations for both vegetarians and omnivores. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients.
The restaurant’s open and inviting layout made it easy for us to spot and greet guests as they arrived, adding to the warm and celebratory ambiance. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to have us there, which made the evening even more special.
The combination of delicious food, thoughtful service, and a welcoming atmosphere made my birthday celebration truly unforgettable. I highly recommend Flower Child for anyone looking to host a special event or simply enjoy a great meal in Bethesda.
A huge thank you to Marcus, Mary, and the entire Flower Child team for making my 30th birthday such a...

Value: Great bang for the buck
Summary: Flower Child is a great "Counter Service" style operation. The menu as very clear and they have simple, yet delicious options. I have had things I loved, and things that I liked less. But, I have never eaten anything bad. Staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is inviting and social. This is an encellent place to grab a meal without stretching your wallet.
Food: Comes out quickly and is delicious. With a rotating menu, it's hard to keep up all the time. But my favorites are: Steak, GF Mac and Cheese, "Queso", and the green beans
Service: Prompt and friendly. Marked it down one star for one encounter regarding "chips portion". We had way more queso than the portion of chips that we were given. When we asked for more chips, the staff member told us that we would have to pay for them and walked away. We wanted to finish the queso since it is one of our fav dishes. When I went to the counter to order, the friendly cashier said "I'll just go grab you some more." Which we found to be a very customer service driven approach. But other than this small infraction, every step of service is great!.
This is going to be a staple of places I go to eat out. Couldn't...
