I’ve been coming to Joe’s for years and have never had an experience like this. I stopped by with my little sister to warm up and grab something during the snowstorm. Within 10 minutes, the GM approached us, asking if we planned to order—odd… considering orders are placed via phone or register and we were seated on the couch. I said yes we were thinking about it, and he responded, “the sooner, the better, since this area is for customers only.” (By this area he means the lounge space / normal cafe area).
I’ve never been pressured to order at a café before, especially while quietly sitting. Meanwhile, other groups—some bringing in outside food—were left alone. I placed an order for a $13 drink (which was just overpriced water and tasted awful) and set it for pickup in 15 minutes while I worked.
I wasn’t going to leave a review after the first interaction, but the second time he came up—and the way he handled it—left such a bad impression that I felt it was worth sharing. As my order was being brought out, the GM had come up to us AGAIN to tell us we had to leave because we weren’t customers… LOL. I pointed out that I had ordered and they were calling my name, he didn’t apologize or handle it professionally—he just made a face and muttered, “God bless” under his breath— to another woman sitting right next to us—who by the way hadn’t ordered a thing. Maybe there are exceptions for certain customers, but the double standard was obvious.
If you’re a professional looking for a place to work, be mindful—apparently, at this location, you need to buy something immediately or risk being harassed by the GM. And if he’s wrong? Don’t expect an apology. Just a look and some passive-aggressive comments. Definitely disappointing.
Oh and btw the couch / seating is disgusting. Covered in stains, food, marks— obviously...
Read moreEdit: said I would order a third time and I did. Sandwich filling issue was remedied third time around; idk if it was bc of who made the sandwich or if my review made an impact but regardless the sandwich came properly filled and delicious as always this time so if you haven’t tried this place before I would recommend! Updated pic included
Writing this in the hopes that whoever runs this location sees this
Overall I love joe & the juice; I’ve ordered the Joe’s club countless times and the vegan shake is delightful!
HOWEVER, I’m not sure what’s going on, but the two times I’ve ordered Uber eats from this location, the sandwich comes .. partially empty? (I’ve ordered 10+ times from a LA location that consistently delivers a wonderfully made sandwich) -why is the sandwich partially empty from both ends so that I’m getting at least three bites of ONLY bread -why are there maybe 2.5 thin slices of tomato and a couple pieces of avocado
I love the taste of the sandwich & how it was made at the first location I ate at, but this location (while taste was maintained) was very much lacking in composition. If I’m going to pay $9 for a sandwich I’d like to have it filled. I’m not expecting it to be stuffed to the brim but having SO much empty space—and stingy ingredients in the areas that are filled—in an already small portioned sandwich is just wild. 4 stars is because the shake was still bomb & weird sandwich making aside I really love the taste of the food.
Will try ordering a third time just because I usually love the food & had so many great experiences with the LA location, but if the sandwiches come like this again I’ll have to reconsider ordering...

Was searching for a good smoothie place and this was recommended. Take my recommendations NEVER get a smoothie from here. I ordered a strawbery, apple, banana smoothie(didn't want the apple bit "had to get it"). What I got was lightly tinted frozen water with a hint of apple flavor (barely, that I didn't even want) ,no banana or strawbery flavor, a chalky straw that dissolved in my mouth and in the smoothie so every sip had a piece of paper In it, absolutely bitter and gross not sweet at all, got the smoothie and food after I drank the smoothie cancelled my food order after seeing the reviews on the item I ordered.oh and it was like $10 for a tiny little 8oz plastic cup of water. Avoid this place like the plague. Don't get a second chance at a first impression so I wouldn't have given such a low score if the service was atleast friendly but I felt like every question I asked about the menu was bothering the employee more and more. McDonald's has better smoothies and that's a fact. Update:was emailed and told how juice works and none of my issues were addressed. Don't waste you money and use it somwhere that cares and makes a...
