When I first moved to Wilmington Antonio's pizza was my go-to however my last few orders (pick up and delivery) were very dissapointing. On an order scheduled for delivery, the pizza arrived with the cheese literally overflowing out of the box, and they forgot the salad dressing for the house salad. I drove to the restaurant and got what I thought were 2 ranches. Unfortunately, when I got home I quickly realized the ranch was ceaser dressing, so I called and kindly explained what happend and thankfully was given a credit for our order. About 3 months later I called to place an order to-go and use my credit. The phone quickly picked up and I was immediatly told to "HOLD!" (I understand being busy but at the least could say "Hi, please hold") Almost 8 minutes later she picked up and was extremly demanding on the phone. I explained my credit, had my receipt with me, and told her the date and who I spoke with. When I told her the women I talked to, she said that waitress wasn't working then, but yet after she found our credit said I didn't tell her that waitress's name. After finally placing my order and having the waitress making it clear she was annoyed with me, she said it was going to be a 2 1/2 hour wait and quickly hung up before I could even say thank you. With a happy ending, the pizza arrived within 45 minutes, however this was by far the worst service I've ever expreienced. I'm 100% about supporting local and understand people rough days/nights at work however this wasn't the first time I've had issues with my order and rude service and will not be...
Read moreMy daughter ordered 3 Italian combos tonight from this place for my birthday. We come here all the time, we bring family when they visit from New York.... we rave about this place, nothing but good things to say- usually... until tonight......we ordered Italian Combos and they all came hot ....we have never in the million places that we've ordered from from in Wilmington and all over ny/ny/ma have gotten them hot before ..... my daughter called and was super nice to the girl that answered the phone asking if they usually come hot and the girl said they can come hot or cold and I said well unfortunately nobody ever asked us or advised us that they come hot from your location and she was super nice about it and offered to redeliver three new sandwiches .....my daughter told them to keep their pasta salad sides because we didn't want them to waste any extra food , we would keep the ones we got and that we would even pick them up so they didn't have to redeliver and waste gas...... but five minutes later the rude owner the called my daughter back saying that that is their norm and they shouldn't have to ask if we want them hot or cold because that's how they are served..... he was so extremely rude on the phone and wouldn't credit us or just give us cold sandwiches or simply admit that they do mostly come cold!!!! it wasn't even about the food or the money but it was the fact he was so obnoxious ... and his excuse was that because the sandwich comes with cheese it should be melted?!?! I have never in my life.... it may be THIER norm but it's...
Read moreWe got take out from here and this may be the last time. We loved this place, pre-pandemic when the food was really well made. Tonight I specifically asked, when I placed the order for the chicken marsala, if there was a decent amount of sauce on the pasta. When I got it home and opened it up, the pasta was dry. There was a very small amount of thin, brown liquid in the bottom of the container. But because they obviously don't use any thickener, the liquid just sat at the bottom, not flavoring a single bite of the pasta. And the chicken was old.l and tough. My husband calls chicken like this "yard bird." It was disgusting. My husband got Chicken Antonio and it was just as bad. Barely any flavor and the sauce was also thin, just hiding down in the bottom of the dish, and the chicken was exactly the same as mine... Tough and tasted old... You know, like too sulphury or something.
The garlic knots were also dry as bones, and had ZERO flavor. No butter sauce, barely a hint of garlic.
I paid $14. for my utterly inedible entree and my husband's was $18. And the entire total cost for the family to get take out from here was $70. For 4 meals. I mean... I know food costs are high but this food was really not good. Not even worth $35.
It has gone so downhill. Such a disappointment. They must just have high school kids working on the kitchen. An Italian chef would be ashamed to turn out...
