My fiance and I have been to this restaurant a few times. It is close to home and typically the food is good. The service however, truly depends on your server. The first time we went we had a man who seemed as if he was newer, he was forgetful of things and seemed to take a little longer than what should be expected. However the food was good and we assumed he was newer and still learning. The second time we went We had a young woman who was AMAZING! Food was correct, she went above and beyond, she is the reason we decided to come back. We chose to eat dinner at casa tonight because it sounded good and we didn’t want to go too far from home. Tonight we had the same gentleman from our first visit, unfortunately i no longer believe he was just learning or new. When we got to the restaurant we were seated in a timely fashion and greeted by our waiter (also in a timely fashion) we got our drinks and chips pretty quickly! Then he took our order and seemed to be a good waiter. 20 minutes go by, he goes by our table multiple times doesn't say a word as far as when our food would arrive, was helping what seemed to be everyone in the section except us. Finally, someone brought PART of my food (fajita skillet) to the table. An additional 20 minutes goes by, my fajita skillet is now COLD, the “remainder” of the food was brought to the table. Only thing missing was the cheese dip i ordered. When i asked the waiter for the cheese dip he went to the back to get it, while he was getting the dip, my fiancé touched his chicken of his ACP and it was room temperature. He touched the plate that had the refried beans, room temp as well. When the waiter returned with the cheese dip, we told him that we understood it had been busy, however my fiancés food was cold. The waiter seemed as though it was OUR fault the food was cold, however it seemed as if our food was ready at the same time, but never brought out. The waiter took ALL of the food back to the kitchen and heated it. He seemed to have an attitude as he was picking up the plates. When he returned 10mins later we could tell it had simply been reheated. (Which was fine) however he again did not bring the cheese dip. He said he would get it and the next time we saw him he went and got a bucket to begin clearing a table right beside us. He was incredibly awful! Unless we can guarantee a good waiter/waitress, we will not...
Read moreMy son played in the area and we were looking for something to eat and this popped up. We were greeted and seated fairly quick no issues. They asked what. Wanted to drink and we mostly got aguas frescas which to my surprise were actually fresh like home made as to say no powder mix or anything. You rarely get that in Mexican restaurants huge plus. We ordered I got the enchiladas supreme all chicken, someone ordered the mariachi plate , another proffered fajitas and then we got a kid plate with the quesadilla rice beans. So when our plates arrived they were hot so I’m assuming you fresh out the oven or whatever right. I take a bit of my food it’s actually warm not hot. The enchiladas barely had any sauce and cheese on top , it had a lot of lettuce and a big blob of sour cream on top. Then the enchilada was packed with chicken and I had to use a knife. When I went to cut the enchilada the tortilla literally fell apart that happens when you microwave the tortillas and then put them in the sauce. The sauce had no flavor what do ever. The only thing that had flavor in the plate was the chicken . I didn’t even finish it. Fajitas were alright but the rice orange rice or yellow whatever you want to call it had no flavor whatsoever. It’s like when you just boil white rice and add some food coloring to it that’s it. My 3 year old did not even eat it. Mariachi plate had no complaints he finished it all. I had asked for a margarita when they had given the chips out before the food I had to ask again because no one brought anything. I got the strawberry apparently but that was straight up kool aid no flavor of strawberry what so ever. They seemed short staff the girl was nice and courteous. I don’t know if I would go...
Read moreIt is difficult for me to describe the experience I had Friday. Waited an hour after being seated, which can happen occasionally at a busy resteraunt.. fine. Ordered the Enchiladas. The beans had an indescribable taste of nothing. Taking one bite made me completely loose my appetite. It was that bad. I then tried my Enchiladas. The chicken one was tough but ok at best. The hamburger one didn't have any flavor or seasoning... but the horrid part was that the enchiladas sauce tasted exactly like watered down Chef Boyardee Tomato sauce from a spagettio can.. NO JOKE.
Were the beans rancid? Unsure. The Enchiladas sauce cannot be defended though. It was disgusting.
Listen, I am a food disposal. I eat everything and am not picky. I also eat out often enough at Hispanic resteraunts to have the ability to rate and review. This was hands down the worst food I've ever had.
With all of the positive reviews, we must have had a fluke experience. I have also ate here once before and remembered it being good.
I may give this place another shot if I ever forget how bad...
