Walked in and ordered takeout. Was told it would be quick and asked where I would like to wait. Told the person taking my order Jiangyi or Shay, not sure name because 2 on receipt where I would be. Waited patiently for 25-30 minutes. When I realized a few of the workers were just upfront horsing around I went and made them aware I had been waiting so long for what I was told was a fast process. The person who checked on where my food was said the person who took my order cleared it out of the system but it was back there. Also to not, at one point someone brought me someone elses togo food and when realized it wasnt mine they apologized and said mine would be right out, so they knew I was there. So when they went and got my food after I brought this to their attention all they did was bring it out and say here you go. I checked my order and opened it all to make sure it was right. Most of it had gotten cooler not even steaming anymore and the steak looked wrinkled and over cooked. I was angry and left, felt the need to call and ask for the manager since if they offered I would have let them quickly make fresh meals for me and make things better in some way. Instead I got what sounded like some kid who said he was in charge for the night, couldnt care less and said he would talk to the person who took my order. Talking to this person does nothing for me at all. I asked when I could talk to a higher level manager would be and he said its like a family business so they dont really have one. I asked who to ask for when I call back and he never gave a name. I told him this was ridiculous to spend almost $50 for two people and two kids for the service and state of food received. He said all he can do is talk to her, I said that I would be calling back again to find the owner and he snickered said ok...
Read moreI don't know if it was a location thing or what. I felt neglected once we were sat down and our drinks were ordered. Took a while to get our main course ordered by waitress (she was all over the place but tending to other patrons but didn't come back to acknowledge us on our food order). Then it took a long time for the food to come out. I know the waitress mentioned she was swamped a little later on, but at least a quick hey we haven't forgotten about your food would have been nice. I ordered the bento box with hibachi shrimp and spicy tuna sushi. When the food came, seriously the rice was not cooked all the way as it still had a hardness to it. I've ate rice all my life and know darn well when rice is not cooked correctly. Was disappointed on the shrimp hibachi too. Shrimp were super small and so much mushrooms, maybe for filler to make it look like it's a lot! So much liquid with the shrimp. I've never had shrimp hibachi with that much liquid in it. My spicy tuna was not even spicy tuna. It was a piece of fish, couldn't tell you what it was, rolled up with some bread crumbs topped off. I almost choked on the crumbs. Only thing that I did like were the miso soup and yellowtail sashimi (sauce put on it was a bit too much though and sashimi didn't taste all too fresh). My salad with ginger sauce was drenched with so much ginger sauce! Literally I was dipping the big pieces of iceberg into it to eat and left rest in bowl. Sad to say it was our first time and last as I would not visit again due to the unpleasant vibe and food...
Read moreCoworker and I ate here a few months back. Unexceptional experience and flavorless food. The waitress made little-to-no attempt to wait us as my cup of water sat empty for the entire last half of my dining time here.
I ordered teriyaki chicken with fried rice. While the rice was fine (not delicious nor bad) the chicken was alarmingly bad. It looked like shredded cat food and was nearly bone-dry. They made no effort to cut the "stringy" pieces off the meat. You know how at some Japanese restaurants several pieces of chicken are all connected together by unchewable "stringy" pieces? This is what I'm talking about and this restaurant has been the worst offender that I've come across of this so far.
I ate a total of two pieces of this chicken and couldn't stomach it. It had zero flavor (there was practically no teriyaki sauce on it... I'm not exaggerating), was nearly bone-dry, had the texture of shredded tuna, and had more unchewable stringy pieces on it than I could count.
I asked for a partial refund of my plate because the chicken really was that bad (I can't remember the last time I had to do this for a meal). The man (owner?) said he couldn't do that because I ate the chicken. After explaining to him that I didn't eat it he said something along the lines of, "Okay, I need to go to the back for a minute." I said, "Do you think I'd lie about something like this?" He assured me he trusted my word. I then heard him in the back pull aside our waitress and confirm with her whether or not I actually ate the...
