I wish there was a way to give this place 1 million negative Stars!!! Worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life! To top it off, their customer service is just as terrible as their food! I meant to do this review a while ago, but honestly forgot until it popped up on my timeline, LOL! I haven't lived here in Asheboro long and a few people had recommended this place because it's close to me. The first time I tried it, I got violently ill a few hours after eating. The food itself was barely warm and tasted like it had been reheated over and over and over again! A few of my co-workers said that they had never had a problem with this place and the food was always pretty decent when they went. So I decided to give it one more try a few months later ... I ended up buying almost $40 worth of food again for myself and my two children and again within an hour of trying to eat their food, I got violently sick! And once again, the food tasted like it was months old and had been reheated over and over again! Worse than the last time! I couldn't stop throwing up and thought I was going to die from the diarrhea! I took it back to try to get my money back and was treated like I was under police investigation by the manager. They were saying because most of the food was not returned and that I was returning it the next day (keep in mind that I called them the day I bought it , while trying not to throw up all over my phone and explained that I was too ill to drive that night )that they were only willing to give me half the money back .... . keep in mind there were three of us the tried to eat the food. Tried being the word of the day. I even offered to go home and dig out their food from the trash and bring it back to them, if that's what it took to get my money back! The manager did agree that she had talked to me the night before about the food, but she said because I couldn't return all of it, that I was only entitled to half my money?! Her racist employees kept calling me a spoiled white woman ! I just wanted my money back for the horrible experience my children and I went through of eating their shity food ! She was cussing me out and call me every name in the book and she would call the police if I did not take only half my money. So after an exhausting 30 minutes of trying to get my point across of being correct and constant threats from the manager and employees, I finally agreed to take half the money and walked out cursing that...
Read moreETA: no julie, I will not be returning to a restaurant where the manager yelled at me and the usual cashier lied. She insisted that customers ALWAYS have to swipe the card in store when orders have been paid for online. That has never been the case for the past year, but suddenly because you were there things changed. Funny how that works. Unfortunately there are no other decent chinese places in asheboro, so I will just have to learn to make my own dumplings and orange chicken. With over half the reviews here citing issues with customer service, this is obviously not somewhere I would send any friends, and we certainly won't be returning. They say 80% of business is your return customers, you're not doing a very good job at keeping us!
Original review: This has been our go to chinese place since we moved here over a year ago, but we will never be eating here again! The older chinese woman at the counter (who I've never seen before, I suspect her name might be Julie from reading reviews) insisted that I had to show my card and swipe it there when I had already paid online. Read moreUsually love this place. But tonight a plate was left out of our to go order. I live 30 minutes away and didn't catch the mistake til I got home. They had also checked everything else in the bag off the receipt and this plate wasn't checked off. My boyfriend was leaving for work and this was his dinner. I called the restaurant and the first lady I talked to was very nice. She said to have him come by and pick up the plate on his way to work. I clarified my name and the order number. I gave my boyfriend the receipt but before he could leave, my phone range. This time it was a Chinese lady in the phone and she was very upset. She told me that the plate was in the bag and argued with me when I told her it wasn't. She continued to yell at me and not let me even try to talk. She said I could bring all the food back and she would show me that the plate was in there. I told her that we were 30 minutes away and I wasn't taking away everyone's dinner to bring it back to her. She kept arguing that the plate was in there and yelling at me til I finally told her that it was fine but we would never be ordering food from China House...
