I’m flattered by the daily phone calls, really. It’s not every day someone is this committed to chasing me down like I’m a long-lost love interest. But here’s the plot twist: I don’t live in North Carolina anymore. I’ve moved to Florida. Sunshine, palm trees, and—get this—no harassing phone calls from furniture stores I never signed my soul away to.
I’m also no longer in the market for overpriced, rent-to-own furniture that costs three times more than it’s worth and might come with more bugs than benefits. Wild concept, I know—but I prefer to buy my things now. Outright. From stores where “customer service” doesn’t mean “we’ll call you more than your grandma does.”
