Small down home dinner that has consistently good food. I eat here at least 4 times a week so that should tell you something. The staff is wonderful and will make sure you are happy with your food. Breakfast is always good as well as lunch. They have a wide variety of offerings for breakfast and lunch. If you want a decent down home meal they do a good job. Of course it's not as good as Mom use to make but then again I haven't found that Resturant myself either. The portions are good sized and in my opinion more than you get at Cracker Barrel. They offer daily specials which are good as well. The downsides are it's small so sometimes there can be a wait on weekends at lunch and sometimes during the week during the summer months. Next, and why a gave it 4 stars ( almost a 3) it gets pretty cold in there which I don't mind but the older crowd tends to complain quite a bit about this. So if you are bringing an older companion you may want to bring a sweater along just in case. I do understand the staff getting hot but the customers are more important (I have offered several simple fixes that would make everyone happy being as this is my area of expertise with no avail). My last complaint is my biggest and I hope that they address this sooner than later. It's dated, very dated. The tables wobble freaqently, the seats are worn out and the table tops feel greasy. This is only too mention a few. I can get by this for now but I am hearing a lot of complaints about it. In my opinion only, I think it's time for the owner to put some money back into this Resturant or sacrifice losing long time customers or repeat customers. For now I go for the food and the great service. For now its well worth the try for you...
Read moreSo I was ready to eat and looked online for restaurants open for Breakfast. Grill Word popped up on my phone. I went in it was definitely busy. I was greeted by quite a few staff with Smiles on their faces. I was told about specials to help me make up my mind. When I got home I realized that I didn't have all of my order. I called back in order to let them know my order was not complete. I was told when they realized what happened I was already gone. (Not bad seeing as though I have a walking cane)Lol. I let them know I would have my son to go and pick up the rest of my order. On the way home I was able to taste test my shrimp and hush puppies. They were sooooo good. My pancakes with strawberries 😋😋😋 was another taste test, the fries were good too. I did share. I was very satisfied and Happy with my food. The Western Omelette was awesome. The grits will probably be good too (I haven't tasted them yet). I really appreciate them giving my son the rest of my order. I was also offered a special meal for my next visit. I will have to give them more than 5 Stars because they were also extremely busy this morning.,😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀 A satisfied first...
Read moreOn 9/14/22 I went to the Grill Worx in Mebane at about 10:30 AM. I was greeted nicely and a waitress promptly came to my booth. There were not many customers and I was tended to efficiently and in a curteous manner. The 70s rock music clearly heard over the 'drive-thru-quality' speakers was ok for folks who like that sort of music (I do, fortunately). Rachel Ray cooking something Italian on the 90s-vintage CRT TV sort of added a nice counter balance to Stairway to Heaven and Freebird. I wish they'd played Let Your love Flow. The coffee was good, hot and plentiful. The eggs were nice and buttery and not cold. The biscuit was baked ok but was slightly warm and dry. My main disappointment was the 'city ham'. To me, city ham is a slice of bone-in pork meat carved directly off the hind leg of a pig. The slice of ham I was served was obviously canned ham which is made from pieces of ham that have been brine cured, pressed or molded, and vacuum-sealed in a can. Instead of having a firm, meaty texture this meat had the consistency of Spam,...
