P.T.'s Olde Fashioned Grille — Restaurant in North Carolina

I went on holiday and decided to go to the famous PT's Grille, I had never gone before but had read some good reviews....Well I didn't get good service at all. From the moment I entered the grille, I received good service from the waitress but the two cooks looked at each other and then myself and smirked, I should have left then but I thought don't go by looks it's probably ok. I got a take out order, once on the road I noticed that my bun for my roastbeef was completely burned, not charred, or toasted, I mean black and my roastbeef was still kind raw and was dripping with fat. At that moment I was furious, I was so mad that I wanted to drive back there and give them a piece of my mind. I instead was happy because of my vacation photos because we took pictures of everywhere we went and I had a picture of the two of them. I don't think that every PT's is bad, but this one certainly is. If you are Caucasian you will probably get good service but if you are any other race you will probably get what I got. It's sad really because I thought this type of behavior didn't happen any more. That poorly cooked meat could have caused me harm and that bun...... need I say more. I can't give this place anything but an "F". I would never recommend anyone to come there and I have already called the grille and informed them of this. I want to post their pictures so that when you see them you will know what type of people they are. I hope that corporate goes and checks on this store because this is surely not the reputation they want to have, it is certainly not good for business. When I called the grille, the manager was not there, but one of the workers were I did inform them of my experience. What's really sad is the one who burned the bun gave me my food, he didn't hand it to the waitress as he did the other food, that should have been a sign. One thing I have is a very good memory and I remember the name of the guy who did it. (ha ha!). Any way. take your chance there. If you are the right skin color you will probably get a great burger or whatever you order. I can't tell you about the fries because after I saw that I just didn't trust anything. I am sure if you go to another one you will probably get good service, but I can only tell you what happened to me. I hate doing bad reviews because I truly understand business, but this place sucks!!!!!!!! Don't go there try a place that will give you the value of your money and the courtesy that...

PT's is a family favorite when we visit Wilmington. We used to live in Wilmington but moved 3.5 hours away and make a point to eat at PT's when we are back in town. We usually eat at the location in the center of town but this time stopped at the Monkey Junction location as we were on our way home from the aquarium.

We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. As I began to fill out my menu ticket, I asked about my daughter's food allergies and if it was possible for them to accommodate them. She has an uncommon allergy to garlic and anything in the cabbage family. We know PT's seasoning has garlic so we were prepared to buy her a salad from the nearby grocery store if needed.

PT's was amazing. The staff immediately asked questions and shared what they could do to make their food safe for my daughter. They marked her ticket with a highlighter so the allergy wouldn't be missed. They made her a fresh, plain hamburger patty with no seasoning and cooked it on a cleaned spot on the grill before cooking our seasoned burgers and chicken. Their side salad was mixed greens so they asked if she wanted plain iceberg lettuce and then topped it with tomato, onion, and cheese.

The staff regularly checked in on us and didn't make my daughter feel like she was inconveniencing them or like it was her fault for having these allergies. We are truly thankful for how they handled everything and it was a relief to know my daughter could eat a restaurant meal with us safely. All of our food was delicious! Seriously PT's fries are the best!

(FIRST, I AM NOT WORKING FOR THEM I JUST LOVE THE PLACE, FOOD AND PEOPLE) Great Food, Great Service and Nice Atmosphere. This place and the people that worker there are so GREAT that once we went there to eat and didn't know they were closing for the night and the people in front of us did a "Karen" and got mad and ran off. My wife and I went up to the counter and asked since they were closing could still wait and get it to go, They said we could and we waited sitting on their bench. We had no problem and just talked as we waited. We were not mad because we were just happy to get there great food. When it was ready they asked if we still wanted to eat there because they are going to be there for an hour or so to clean up the place. We gladly said yes because now we can eat it hot and not cold. They told us it would not be a problem because they liked how we didn't get up mad and leave. We were just happy to get their food even though were good to have to take it home.
