I absolutely LOVE accent on wine, but tonight was the WORST service I EVER received in Park Circle in my 5 years of living here. First off, I am not one to be opposed to employees drinking on the job as long as they can function and remember how many drinks a table has had or what food they ordered and as someone who works in food & bev I understand making conversation with one’s tables and giving good service and BLANKLY IGNORING new customers coming in for more than 10 minutes is RIDICULOUS! And on top of that I was wanting to pay for my sisters I dinner as I wanted to treat her out, but I was told by the employee that I wasn’t allowed to pay because I wasn’t “of age”. Yes, my sister ordered wine and I don’t drink because I am only 20, but I have treated her out multiple times to Accent On Wine and have paid SOO many times before. Again, as someone who works in food and bev I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THAT A DAY IN MY LIFE. I could understand if she were wanting to buy a bottle of wine to take home, yet my sister had 3 glasses of wine while we were there and all were finished before we left. Then I was told I couldn’t pay. I know I can absolutely send my sister to money or do whatever but what if my sister didn’t bring her card? What would we would’ve done then? And like I keep on saying I ADORE ACCENT ON WINE. They have always been accommodating and wonderful! There was this one time when my sister’s dogs got loose and we were actually at Accent and Wine when they did. The employee was so nice to box all of our stuff and still be efficient and fast, and the food was still beautifully presented in the boxes for us once we were settled. I was greatly appreciative of the employee for everything he had done for us, I tipped him $80 for the excellent service. That's why I’m just in shock about our experience tonight. I am...
Read moreFrom the moment I walked in, I felt like I was somehow being a burden to the staff. There was no one out front when I came in, and I stood at the bar for a few minutes until someone came out from the back. Once I had my wine, I asked if they had wifi. The guy serving me turned around and walked away, saying "nope!" while he wasn't even facing me. I work in food and bev, so I was giving him the benefit of the doubt, knowing I have bad days too. But he never once asked how everything was, even though I was literally the only person in there. Then, when I was checking out, I noticed I was charged for two full glasses of wine instead of a full and a half glass. I mentioned this to the lady working, and she said, "Well do you just want me to pour you the other half? If not, I have to go back and refund you in the system and print out a whole new check." Really? They acted like it was an inconvenience to them, when they had made the mistake. I definitely won't be back! With as many places as there are to get wine and cheese in Charleston, I'll...
Read moreWe are new to Park Circle, but, (& i can not express this enough,) WOW. i am speechless in the best way. This place excels in every single way & then some. From knowledgeable staff/owners, to affordable quality wines, to decadent cheeses.... there is absolutely nothing left to desire. I haven’t had charcuterie this incredible since i lived in New York. Sitting outside on the patio, i felt like we were dining in a quaint area of Europe. If you’re looking for an welcoming & personalized wine experience, please look no further. I’d go as far to say this little gem beats any wine place downtown Charleston as well. Thanks, Accent on Wine! Looking forward to the next bottle....
