This is NOT a steakhouse. Do not come here with that expectation or you will be sorely disappointed as I was. This quality and preparation of food makes this feel more like a diner than a steakhouse. The Server was very kind and attentive as you would expect of a diner. 9 oz ribeye tasted as though it had been frozen, came lukewarm, and was extremely thin with very little marbling as one would expect in a ribeyeThe steak reminded me of something that an average cook at home would make which makes me ask why would I come back for something I could just as easily make at home if not even better at home (and pay way more). I would also recommend adjusting prices to match the quality of the food...so probably $3-$4 less for their steaks. I would also recommend applying butter to a baked potato before you load it with cheese and bacon...expecting me to do that means the cheese has already melted around the potato and my butter cannot. Appetizers were by far the best part of my meal fried mushrooms were great as was the fried calamari...again though these are things I would expect more from a diner than a steakhouse...I think as a diner my review would have been more forgiving, but if you are going to put "steakhouse" in your title you have a loooooong way to go
In response to defensive owner: I will gladly go across the street to Texas Roadhouse across the street next time I am in town for a better steak. At least then, my steak will be hot. I had already waited long enough for my steak and I am not going to force the rest of my party to have to wait for you to re-prepare my food. It's great to say you will make things right, and I do appreciate the sincerity in wanting to make it right, but get it right the first time because You don't know what plans your guests may have already established. And the whole "We're not perfect" bit, I understand no one is perfect, but that bit gets old. You used that line with another reviewer. I'm not the only one that commented about you being a "steakhouse." Many of my complaints are repeated a few times over the past year or so. Maybe Learn to accept a little bit of criticism and do something about it instead of sitting here trying to cry "we are not perfect." In regards to your phoney pretentiousness comment, over-reaching would be the word I would use in regards of you being a "steakhouse."
Again, multiple people have had similar complaints as mine. Instead of attacking like you did in my review. Step back and examine the things being said. If it's one comment, ok. But when multiple people are saying similar things, it's time to start looking in house to see what may need tweaked or fixed. as an owner, you are absolutely at liberty to do as you please with your restaurant, but Not everyone takes the time to give you feedback like you can get from these reviews, and if you have had multiple people out of the 100s or 1000s of guests you have served leave complaints. You can rest assured others have as well and just won't come back, and then you are like the owners on kitchen nightmares, "I don't know what happened" "my food is wonderful" " People just stopped coming in" or "its those...
Read moreJust left. I had the sirloin with loaded baked potato with salad and a tea. My wife had Ms. Betty's cheeseburger with blue cheese and fries. The burger was very good, cooked right. The fries were, well fries. The sirloin had an uncanny resemblance to a chuck steak. Very fatty and sinewy. Took a lot of work to cut the meat away from the tendons. I finally gave up. Service was okay and food came quickly. The last thing, I was overcharged. With sales tax, before tip the bill should have been around $38.50. I was charged $45.86. Conveniently the only receipt we get is the credit card receipt so there is no detailed receipt to check for error. Won't return again, especially since a fatty tough $23 steak ended up costing me $30. Could have been an honest mistake but my bank account doesn't know the difference.
Added after owner reply: okay you have explained the charge, I'll have more but first I don't go running to the internet and set my blazers to full blast. I have nothing aimed at you. I post reviews good and bad to let others know of my experience at a business. Did you not note the comment on the burger? This is the magic of social media. Where others would have to rely on word of mouth before now we have a multitude of opinions to see. So no' I didn't run to the internet. I actually didn't even think about the price, other than it is unusual to not get a detailed receipt in this day and age, until my wife said something AFTER WE LEFT. I have browsed the rest of the reviews now also and as I am sure you are aware there are several negative comments regarding the quality of your cuts. And no it is not as you told one individual, the luck of the draw. USDA grades meat for exactly this purpose. What is your grade? With that said I was told to pick a side and just said salad. I never realized there was an upcharge for salad. I assumed there would be for the loaded potato but did not think of that. Again my suggestion would be to give a detailed receipt prior to running the card. I appreciate the offer to come back but I will decline. I am 62 years old and that truly was the worst steak I can recall and I have done some damage on the grill at times. Not trying to be insulting. It truly was. Will change to two stars as I was not overcharged. It was your process that created the misunderstanding though. And as long as you have been in business I am sure you are aware most customers who have a bad experience simply will just...
