Came to this waffle house for lunch and was immediately greeted with attitude by the older female waitress. There was no clean tables and when my coworker asked for them to clean the empty table full of dirty dishes she gave him attitude, complained about having to wipe the table, and then proceeded to give him dirty utensils. When clean ones were requested; she threw more attitude. He ordered coffee and got hot but burnt stale coffee. When I sat down and tried to order a drink, I was given my water in a dirty cup with floaters in it. As we had already placed our order by this point, we decided we'd stick it out. That was a mistake. She kept arguing with the cook, failed to greet new customers, took down our order wrong as well as another tables, failed to give me utensils, and we had to grab our own napkins from another "closed off" table. Our ketchup was empty, sugar for the coffee was old and clumped. I know it's waffle house so a 5 star review is very rare, but you get what you pay for... so finally we get our food (they weren't busy so it shouldn't have taken 20 minutes to get our food but it did)... and the eggs were awful tasting and cooked wrong (not the cooks fault but waitresses for giving the wrong informationto the cook); the hashbrowns were cooked right but missing the extras we'd ordered on them, the toast was cold and buttered cold, she forgot to drop our waffles completely and threw an attitude when we asked about them complaining that it wasn't her job to make sure they were cooked... yet every waffle house I've ever been to previously, it was always the waitresses job so not sure why this one is any different.... but finally she agreed to take off the waffles and fix our ticket for her mistake of not giving the cook the right information for the hashbrowns, then commenced to complain about supposedly the waffle irons being broken? When we went to pay, she had disappeared and was ignoring other customers. Finally another waitress who was trying to clock in came to the register and took the card; asked why the ticket looked like a child wrote and scratched everything off; and asked if we wanted to leave a tip. When they were informed that no tip was earned; the original waitress started to storm over and throw attitude about how rude it was for us not to tip.
The restaurant itself was decently clean; although there is definitely major room for needed cleaning. The napkin dispensers were ALL filthy, and even the tables that were closed off with chairs on top of them were filthy. The cook was friendly and apologized to us for the order being wrong and explained where the miscommunication had occurred and apologized for the waitresses attitude.
I will not be coming back to this waffle house ever again. I loathe leaving bad reviews unless it is...
Read moreCustomer service was so poor I didn’t even get to taste the food. I was waiting with my husband and four children. I sent my teens to sit at the bar because a booth close by was empty but just needed to be cleaned (as were two other booths). The waitress told my sons they needed to give her a minute (I assume there were plates that needed to be moved but I didn’t see any). She then checks out a customer and dallies around behind the counter. She goes to clean the table and periodically glares at me as she cleans. I’m waiting for her to say the table is ready but when I look up she’s behind the counter again glaring at me. I typically eat at Waffle House whenever I visit SC because it’s a cheap meal and I can usually match the tip to whatever my check is. I told my husband I would not leave that lady the trash on my plate! We walked out. Grateful there are ppl who’ve experienced better because this was lacking all the southern hospitality I...
Read moreI realize that by going to Waffle House my expectations are not much…even though we love their food. However I do expect people working there to be courteous. This morning was a complete disappointment. We went in and they had 3 tables closed my guess due to staffing. Told the woman working we had 3 waiting for a table. She told us that we could sit at the bar which I didn’t want to do and was fine waiting for a table. After a few minutes she then became rude about us sitting at the bar even though I told her the 8 year old with us wouldn’t even be able to reach. She just kept insisting we sit at the bar anyway. Eventually told her I didn’t want to sit at the bar. I have never been so rudely spoken to as I was in there this morning by the girl in the camo Waffle House hat. We left before getting a table. Wish I could leave zero stars but it...
