This was our 2nd time coming here in a week. This is a great Deli. We actually detoured our trip home to Beaufort to stop here. The salads are chilled and fresh as is the salad bar. Our first trip my hubby and I had a Chef salad and a Yankee. Each came with chips and a pickle spear. They give you a number, then bring your meal to your table. We each loved our meals. My hubby loves Philly/ NYC size sandwiches (big and thick)that's what East Bay Deli serves! Here are 2 photos of his sandwich. The 2nd time my hubby had the same sandwich a Yankee. He upgraded to Cole slaw for approx. $1.50 more. I had the Charleston Philly sandwich upgraded this time to fries. Again two great sandwiches. Crunchy, crispy fries, the Cole slaw had a slight sweet taste was balanced out the taste. We both agree East Bay Deli is a place we will visit any time we are near one of their locations. Kudos to all employees for delicious food, well presented. Clean environment!!!

I went in around 8:30 pm. I ordered a chicken caesar salad with tomatoes. Price was almost $15. Fairly expensive but I said, it's probably a big salad. I should've known something was up when I picked up my order and it was rather light. When I got home and opened it, I was wrong. It was small AND they gave me looks like Thousand Island dressing. I just moved so I don't have a fridge stocked with extra dressings and I do not care for Thousand Island. 😔 The grilled chicken was cut up fairly small. Although it was seasoned, it was very dry and rubbery. I tried to eat it but I couldn't. I gave up on it and tossed it. I'm highly disappointed and it's now too late to return it to be corrected.

I got broccoli and cheese soup and it was delicious if a tad on the salty side. I also got a giant baked potato with cheese, sour cream and bacon. It was also good but I don't know if I'd get it again. I will say the bacon on that potato was the star! It wasn't just the usual bacon bits or even strips of fried bacon that's been chopped up. Oh no! It was hunks of thick bacon pieces, some of them were the size of my thumb nail bed and as thick as the tip of my pinky. The bacon alone is what made the potato worth the cost. Maybe it's a weird side note but I also enjoyed the music that was playing. I heard everything from Cat Stevens to Sixpence None The Richer.

Food was 3 stars Service was 2 stars

Heard great things about this place but was very disappointed in my first experience.

Sandwiches were good but small portions especially for the price. Service was very subpar overall. Staff did not seem excited to be there. My friends order was messed up twice before being fixed.

But the worse part was picking up my to go order. I’m in town for a wedding, picking up a meal for my wife, and enjoying food with other family. The young man behind the counter called my name, though not loud enough for a busy time. I heard it but was slow to respond. The young man proceeded to yell my name in a very rude tone. I’m not one to complain so I just ignored him. But than when I reached for the only bag on the counter he proceeded to raise his voice again, snatched the bag out of my hand, and rudely notified me that this was not my order.

It’s hard to describe rude behavior via text, but needless to say this was by far the worst I had ever been treated in any customer service setting. I spoke to the manager who said she would deal with him. He than proceeded to come “apologize” but did so with the excuse that he was really busy. Any “apology” that comes with an excuse is not an apology where I am from.

I’m from the south but currently live in a northern city. So I am used to both southern hospitality and your typical careless city service. It’s a shame that two staff members can ruin the overall experience of a customer, but it’s the fact of the matter. Someone needs to straighten that young man out or he will continue to push...

I'm from Miami and haven't had a good Cuban since living there 8 yrs ago. That changed today. Cuban was EXACTLY how it should be and absolutely bursting with flavor. The acidity from the thinly sliced pickles and mustard, cut perfectly through the salty meats, and fluffy Cuban bread. I almost cried when I took a bite of this sandwich- literal perfection. I also ordered a Ruben with EBD seasoned fries and have nothing but the finest praises for those two items as well. The Ruben was absolutely stacked with delicious meat, and a powerful and mouth watering sauerkraut. There was also what I assumed to be thousand Island on the sandwich, and I absolutely love that they didn't overload the sandwich with sauce. A lot of places do that and you don't get to taste the meat as well as you should, but East Bay Deli understands that less can be more. The EBD seasoned fries were also really good. Not greasy, nicely crispy, and beautifully seasoned. I will definitely be returning here for sandwiches; this might be the best sandwich shop I've ever had the pleasure of ordering from. I didn't even eat inside and the food was this delicious! Imagine if I had eaten it inside of the restaurant, fresh and hot! Please do yourself a favor and check this place out!!!

Editing to add an honorable mention for the rye(?) bread the Ruben was on. So freaking...

My son wanted to go here for his birthday for some reason. Ok no prob. We went and my husband and I got the cheese steak sandwich and fries....

The Good: Staff was friendly, fountain drinks was awesomly perfect my husband kept saying it was the best fountain drink he has had in a very long time! Fries were seasoned and tasty although a little dry tasting. It tasted like they were made using an airfryer or oven cant taste any oils.

The Not so great: a little pricey for what you get, McAlister's portion sizes are a lot bigger than this place (last i checked) My son enjoyed his burger although he would enjoyed a cheaper burger just as much from some place else, nothing special.

The Really bad: the cheese steak i got and the one my husband got was extremely dry there is no kind of condiments on it other than half melted cheese... Usually cheesesteak has some greese esp with fried onions and peppers you'd think it would have some grease to help make it tasty and good. This places food is sooooo dry...we ate half of our sandwiches there and took the other half home to recook it with some actual vegetable oil to make it better!

Advice: Please stop making everything so damn healthy if i wanted healthy i wouldn't of ordered a cheesesteak for petes sake! (Cheesesteak should not be made like this i expect greese to be dripping...
