I recently had the worst lunch experience ever at this diner and I travel quite a bit in the northeast and have eaten at many different establishments. I ordered the chicken parm sandwich lunch special. This special was to include a cup of soup, sandwich, fries and dessert.

The soup arrived and all was good. The sandwich arrived and it was so tough and rubbery you couldn't chew or cut it. I alerted the waitress and she was very understanding and asked if I would like a replacement. Since I was put off by the sandwich and no longer had an appetite I declined. She than informed the establishments owner of situation. He never acknowledged me or the problem with my lunch. The waitress then returned to my table and informed me that she was not going to charge me for the sandwich, but I was going to charge me for the cup of soup.

I was now quite angry at the entire experience and reluctantly paid $4 for my soup and left the diner never to return. It wasn't my place to argue with the waitress who had nothing to do with the cheap subpar chicken or the decision if the owner not to address the situation or to charge for a cup of soup even though the sandwich was inedible.

It's unfortunate that the owner couldn't take a few minutes to breakaway from his conversation with a regular customer to address a problem with another one of his customers.
