My partner and I shared pork gyoza, we each got a maki combo and an extra roll. I got maki combo B, all spicy rolls, none of them were spicy, only one was crunchy, which leads me to believe they all had crunch in them, but 2 of them were too old to still be crunchy. The spicy yellowtail looked exactly like the spicy tuna, except it tasted like scallions. Only the spicy salmon was spicy, and only a little. I had clear soup, which was VERY oniony. It was like it was made with onion base instead of seafood dashi. The menu said it was chicken broth, but it didn't taste like chicken, it tasted like dehydrated onions. The peanut avocado roll also was flavorless. The peanuts were raw, not toasted, not salted, but the avocado was nice, so it was very bland. My partner got maki combo a, and his fish looked fresh, but his rolls fell apart, and he said they weren't seasoned, he added soysauce to them, which he never does. He had miso soup, and hot sake, he enjoyed both of those. We both took half our sushi home, but both decided to toss them because we both had upset stomachs about an hour later. Nothing horrible, it just didn't sit well and we didn'twant to chance eating it later, plus it wasn't that good anyway. The staff was super nice and friendly. I just wish the sushi had been good. With a little more effort, like seasoning the sushi rice and making the spicy rolls fresh, toasting the peanuts, and using the normal dashi/seaweed base for clear soup, it could be really good! The best part was the hot tea and the pork gyoza. If you find yourself here, my advice is to stick to...
Read moreI can't even begin to describe how terrible our experience was. In fact, I am still here while posting this review. We ( party of 6, 4 adults, 2 children below 3year) arrived at 6:10pm on Friday evening. We were told it would be a 20-minute wait. Right while waiting, another couple arrived and were also told it would be a 20-minute wait. We then left our number and details while we waited in the car. In 20 minutes, we came back inside and were told it would be another 10 minutes wait. However, we noticed the people who came after us were seated. We were finally seated at 6:45pm. We ordered immediately, and then our ordeal began. For the next hour, we would watch others get served, delivery meals get prepared while we waited. Waiting for 2 hungry kids was quite challenging. After a while, we asked the wait staff when our meals would be ready. After another long wait, they brought out the appetizer for our friends with the children. It took an hour long after several prompting of our food to finally get served. This was while observing people walk in, get their orders taken and served in less than 15 minutes. This was almost a slap in the face. What was to be a nice evening out with friends and family turned into something that can't be described. The experience marred the taste of what perhaps would have been a good...
Read moreUpon my first and only visit to this restaurant on Valintines Day. I really wanted to enjoy it since I love Asian cuisine and the nearby Red Lobster was packed. Unfortunately my time was immediately ruined by the first conversation I had with the waitress. I was asked what drinks would we like. I asked for a Blueberry Cheesecake Seasonal mixed drink that sounded really good actually to go with my meal. I was asked for ID which was fine except I realized I left it home. I mentioned this to my partner across the table and was immediately cut off with the response by the waitress "So both waters then?" Rather rudely and abruptly. There was other options on the menu and my husband hadn't given his drink order yet. I didn't understand the hostility so we settled for water as she suggested and it was obvious our moods where shot after this. She then presided to place my bowl close to the edge of the table and without utensils. If it had not been for the wonderful waiter who kept checking in on us, and the great food my entire day would have been ruined. I'm giving two stars because the food was good. I dont know who may have set that waitress off that day but I had a poor...
