Man, let me share my experience at Denny’s, because after what I experienced, I recommend the Waffle House, IHOP, anywhere!
February 6th 2023: I placed an online order through Denny’s website at 10:41pm, scheduled for later pickup at 11:30pm. The Later option I chose on the website because I was on time restraints, and wanted to make sure it would be ready.
When I arrived at 11:24pm for the 11:30pm scheduled online order. I was told at 11:24pm, “It’s not ready,” and was left hanging with no idea of when it would be ready.
After patiently waiting another 15 minutes or more, I then overheard the only female server working, tell the only cook that, “Online orders can wait,” She shouted in front of a waiting room with five other people.
Now after 11:45pm, when I asked her to clarify what I heard her tell the cook, I am rudely told, “I’m gonna have to wait.”
Then, “I am wasting her her time,” by questioning my order.
When I asked her, “How do you think I feel knowing the order I placed online an hour before is not a priority?“
She responded, “I am not appreciate,” by Denny’s.
To prevent from getting into an argument, I had to leave without my order, no refund, and had to swing around to Burger King to get something to eat at 12:30am.
Simply put if she is working, this employee will ruin your experience at the North Kansas City, Denny’s on Tanney St.
I recommend avoiding this Denny’s location until they can properly train the staff, and replace staff members, like the lady I experienced on February 6th, 2023 at 11:24pm, who don’t value customers that choose to eat at Denny’s.
Remember, according to this staff member, they don’t feel appreciated, and she will treat you as such. As a guest not worthy of time, server, or customer service.
In all of my years in the service industry, the level of rudeness, disrespect, and unprofessionalism I experienced recently is unmatched.
Lastly, I love those banana salted caramel pancakes at Denny’s. I used to get them all the time before they were taken off the menu, so I was excited when I saw them back.
However, after this experience, I can’t spend another penny with Denny’s in good faith. I am hurt by the actions of one employee. No meal is worth the loss of time and lack of concern for your experience.
So sad, a true...
Read moreThe service was definitely lacking, but at no fault of the servers. I went on a Sunday morning (which I know is a busy time), but there were only 4 servers I could count for the entire restaurant. The floor was grossly understaffed. It took upwards of 5 minutes to be greeted, several more minutes before our drink order was taken, and a generous 5 more minutes before our drinks were delivered. I won't mention how long it took for our order to be taken or to receive our food for that matter.
Our server, Melissa, was very kind and was hustling to ensure her tables were tended to, however there's only so much one person can do.
The food was good. I had to wait quite awhile for my one coffee refill, and I never received the catsup I asked for (had to go grab a bottle from a vacant table.
After the meal I went up front to pay and requested the manager when asked how everything was. Turns out the woman at the register was the General Manager.
I expressed how dissatisfied I was by the understaffng, assuring her our server did the best she could.
She told me 3 servers called in sick and became very defensive when I said that there's something wrong if three of your staff are calling in. She apologized but only after letting me know just how well she thought she had managed the location for 10 years. I get it. No one likes to be told they're doing a bad job. But her apology didn't seem genuine, and I feel there should be extra safeguards put in place for a busy Sunday morning....perhaps pad the schedule a bit?
I felt so bad for the servers, the majority of folks sitting at the tables looking around. That's a clear sign customers are...
Read moreI liked the waitress she was running around like crazy another waitress got mad said she was taking her customers and said she was leaving . Ordered Eggs Benedict they looked strange yellow like nacho cheese on them, looked at menu to make sure it was not my mistake and Maybe that is what it came with but no normal eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce sent that back and ordered French toast it was barely cooked pretty much over it by this time . Waitress asked if I cared if she just kept eggs Benedict on ticket because there were no managers and she could not change our ticket, so again whatever and she gave us free cheesecake for our problems I am very sure food cost at this store is horrible, go to check out waitress who said she was leaving started getting in cashiers drawer to pull her tips out obviously she did not leave and continued to stand there and talk to the cashier while we stood there wth???? Finally I said can u stop talking to her and check us out. Ridiculous I have never heard of a full service restaurant during dinner not having management there much less leaving these poor employees without the ability to fix a ticket if something needs to be changed. This store needs help not the first time we have had bad food or bad service at this location, but hey we figured we will try again not any better.
When does corporate office look at complaints and sales, margin to know this store needs help. 2 Mgrs for one store is also Ridiculous . Train your people customers come first. Shut up and take care of them and teach your cooks to make...
