Don't let the modest exterior fool you. The food is exquisite. My wife and I went there for a lovely dinner. We started with the very best beet salad that we had ever had. The combo of the goat cheese, arugala, beets, on a base of a roasted cashew nut paste was truly amazing. Hats off to the chef on creativity and execution. My wife had the chicken parmagiana and I the eggplant parmagiana. (ok, a bit boring). Perfectly done, but maybe not the best ever. However--both dishes came with a side of homemade pasta that was outstanding. So, be sure to get a dish with their pasta when you are there--don't miss it. The atmosphere was between a 4 and 5 star for me. Because Wickford is a sort of beachy, Narragansett historic village, 5 stars is justified by the decor. In a less beachy environ, it would have brought fewer stars. Has a fully stocked bar, and enjoyed a cocktail there also. All in all, a very pleasant experience. Bravo to the chef and owner.

The owner noticed me outside taking photos next door and invited me into her establishment also. Very accommodating and generous with her space and access. I have actually eaten at this establishment in years gone by and found it delicious, but the details elude me. 5 stars on friendliness and service from all I encountered.

I just had some of the worst food that I have ever eaten mixed with the worst customer service by the owner.

Everything was too salty. Food is over priced. Never received the drinks I ordered.

I order the calamari with marinara sauce and peppers for an appetizer. The sauce taste like it was out of a can. No flavor. The calamari was way to salty.

Then The entrees came. Two entrees were Veal Saltimbocca and the chicken Franchise. The food was way to over salted as well.

Could not eat more than a few bites. The staff did ask if we liked the food and we said it was to salty and couldn’t eat it.

The owner then addressed me in a very rude tone and informed me that they do not use salt in there food in the entrees that was ordered.

I never once asked for the manager or owner to come over to speak to me about the food. I was just going to pay and leave. I have never had such a horrible meal that was not even edible. Horrible customer service by the owner. The girls that took the order did they best they could but failed to ever deliver any drink that we ordered except for water and a coke.

On top of that. When we were leaving the owner may have thought we left out the door but I didn’t leave fast enough because she was then complaining about how she has never had a bad meal from there and complained about me being there and not eating the food. She clearly is either delusional about her food or has never tasted her food.

I rather eat fast food that has been sitting out for hours rather than ever go back here and try there food ever again. It is no surprise that they were not busy. Especially with the owner that just sat at the bar and only seemed to get up to address me about her food not being to salty.

Save yourself the money and literally go anywhere else but here. Highly disappointed in the food but most of all the owner and her actions, even though I was just going to pay for the food that was barely eaten...

This restaurant had 5 star ratings so my husband and I decided to try it out! We walk in, it’s immediately hot inside. We sit down, a girl who never even announced to us as our waiter gives us waters & awkwardly asks us if we need anything else to drink….. my drink I asked for was a glass of Merlot and she didn’t understand that terminology. We then order our food I got a salad and my husband got chicken parm…. Before our entrees come we got burnt bread and I mean BURNT! Couldn’t even eat it. Then our entrees come and ……. We were instantly disappointed. My salad was so small, croutons were of course burnt to a crisp as well as the bread we received & my husbands chicken parm was literally two chicken tenders from the frozen section of a supermarket with some ragu and minimal amount of cheese on top. Not to mention the pasta he got was basically so overcooked it was like mashed potatoes. We didn’t even touch our food….. the part that got me was not one single waitress or management there didn’t recognize we weren’t eating and didn’t say a word!

I ended up asking for a manager and she came over never started off with any introduction just said “did I do something wrong?” I explained to her my complaints as listed above and she blamed it on “well I work with a bunch of 15 year olds” okay……. Not sure how a 15 year old waitress has anything to do with the way our food is prepared. Just the fact I clearly complained was dissatisfied and completely uncomfortable from the heat, did not eat a single part of our meal & we received no compensation or apology or anything!!!!! Just honestly disgusting ….. I will never ever return or recommend that place to anyone!!!!! Truly sad. Not to mention the price for what I received and the...

We were excited when we peeked in and saw this cozy space with stools lined up while looking down toward the restaurant. I have been to Wickford before and fell in love with it and was excited to share the weekend there with my fiancée. The owner ( I believe the older woman was) asked us if we wanted food and I said we would like to order appetizers. We ordered our drinks. She never came back to ask us to ask us what we would like to order. The couple next to us (apparently regulars) were given bread, napkins, and were attended to. She kept walking right by us. We finished drinks and wanted another round. I had to ask a young lady, Emma,if we could get another round. After that, the owner came to us and gave us drinks. I then asked Emma if we could order crab cakes. We waited 30 minutes. I ask Emma again, are the crab cakes coming out? She went into the kitchen and put them in front of us. Lukewarm, not good at all. No communication from the owner who was also serving. Only to her regulars. Chatting, smiling, tending to them. Finally she asked my fiancée, “another beer?” She was rude and obviously didn’t care about attending to you unless you were a regular. It was not very busy. I will never step foot in her establishment again. I’ll go back to Wickford on the Water!!! She can keep her rudeness to herself. Thanks for ruining...
