We've always liked BJ's Restaurants, the food is consistently good, the atmosphere is always pleasant, and the service (with the exception of one other location) is always pretty good, too. This was a new location and had just opened a few days prior. Unfortunately, it was terribly understaffed, and one of the 3 bartenders working that night told us that there was one who didn't show up and another was 2 hrs late.
My favorite entrées are the baked ziti or spaghetti and meatballs, and I like ordering extra meatballs.
For this visit I ordered the baked ziti, and as an appetizer I ordered the guacamole dip which was a bit spicy for my taste, and chips which were a teensy bit over done but didn’t taste bad. My husband ordered the tri tip/chicken breast combo with fries. His appetizer was the pepperoni flat bread however, a pan pizza was brought instead. Halfway through his entrée he finally got his flat bread, and because of the mistake, he got to take home a pizza, too. The steak portion of Hubby's dinner was requested well done. We know it was written down correctly because Fernando double checked with Hubby to make sure he wanted it cooked like that because tri tip can be a little chewy when cooked thoroughly. So, we were quite certain it was written down and entered correctly. Well, it didn't come out that way, it was medium. So, we asked to return it. It still didn't come out correct. It came back as medium-well. Ugh, what is it with chefs who don't want to cook steak well done? 🙄 He ate what he could, but it wasn't what he wanted. I had tasted it and it was good so if you like steak cooked medium, you may like it.
David was another bartender who helped us, and he was very nice, too.
There was a bit of a mix up with our check because we were charged twice for Hubby's dinner, but Candace, who was the manager, rectified everything.
All in all, once all the kinks get ironed out, and staffing gets up to 100%, it'll be a very enjoyable place to go. We are really understanding when it comes to things like staffing issues, so...
Read moreWhere do I start. Very disappointed!!!
First there wasn’t any prime rib on a Friday night which was the reason we picked BJ’s to start with. Settled for the ribeye (2 of them) which turned out to be a bland piece of meat. Cut was marvelous cooked to temp but Tasted as if they took the meat and slabbed it on the grill with Absolutely NO seasoning whatsoever which blew my mind. SO GROSS. Hard to swallow when you have ordered this at previous BJs and know exactly what to expect. When bringing this to the servers attention due to not having the prime rib which comes with a Pizookie he made an exception which was so nice and gave us one to share on the house.
At this point I’m still upset that the steaks were terrible but I am moving past it to have a great family dinner. He brought out our deserts with spoons which were stuck together with food between 4 of them and when I say food I mean actually dinner still left on the spoons. I walk over and ask the server if he could get us some clean silverware. He then brings us back 6 new spoons which he said he cleaned himself. I then turned one over to find food stuck on the tip of the supposedly clean spoons. Now I’m so GROSSED OUT. Hard to enjoy really any of the dessert when not once but twice you get REALLY DIRTY silverware.
Felt the standards at this BJs is so much lower than the one in Henderson and in Summerlin. It shouldn’t matter what side of town you’re eating on. BJ’ prices at all three stores are the same and I expect the food to hit the standards to match what you’re charging. I am so very disappointed we chose to spend our hard earned money on a special family dinner at your establishment.
Recommendations for management when a customer makes a complaint of any kind you touch base. We sat at the table for quite a while waiting just to see if anyone would come by to have a conversation to discuss the multiple issues resulting for your poor service overall. NOTHING. This store hasn’t been open long and possibly could do another round of training to try and compare to your...
Read moreMy birthday just passed, and I was given a couple gift cards to BJs. Thought I'll get myself a free lunch. I order it, I wait the usual time that it takes them to get it ready, and went to the location. I noticed in the check in text it says my order will be ready 2 hours after I ordered it. That's definitely not the usual right after opening so I went in to ask. They wrote down my info and order number, and I also showed them it was fot the right location. They were all clueless on how to deal with the issue, and they said that I had to cancel it and it would go back on the gift card right away. I knew that it wouldn't and it didn't. The gift card, of course, didn't have enough money to purchase 2 free meals so no free lunch for me. The woman that was at the register was trying to be polite, but I could tell she was clueless and kept having to go back to get answers instead of the manager coming out to handle it. It felt like I was playing phone tag. They didn't offer me anything for the inconvience. It was obvious a problem with their own system that caused the trouble since they couldn't even find my order anywhere. I thought I'd be offered some water or something while I was waiting. Normally the restaurants policy makes clear that if you cancel on mobile order it's still is taken from your credit card or balance regardless so if it's so happens to come back to my gift card I'll up their rating a little bit otherwise this was the most terrible experience I've ever had. It makes me want to just go to this centennial location from now on. The only thing I thought would truly happen is that I would show them that I was there for my order since I had all the proper documentation that it was already paid for and they would just make it for me in I would be on my way. Oh how wrong I was. I would like to add that when the food finally got to me it was good, but food can't fix a terrible experience where to me in the moment I feel like over half my gift card was taken from me for no reason other than they were...
