This store is horrible! They never have enough staff and if they do all the staff is rude and there is ALWAYS something wrong with your order. This time I went and had 3 orders for pickup. When I got to the window I was told that they were still making my biscuits so I could wait there at the window for them it might be about 5 mins. I was surprised she (Kayla) said I could wait there then about 2 mins later she came back and said could you please pull around to the front and we’ll bring it out. So I said ok, I was waiting out there for about 10 mins and realized all the cars going through the drive thru but nobody has come out to me in now over 10 mins. So I went up to the door and it had a sign on it that says “due to staffing lobby is closed” so I tried to knock and get someone’s attention. After knocking for awhile Kayla finally sees me but doesn’t come out until like 3 mins and tell me “we don’t have spicy tenders would you like regular?” I was like wait what?!? I waited all this time and now there is no spicy tenders?!? What are my other options and she’s like “ I don’t know I’d have to ask your manager” so I told her to go ahead and get them please and she very rudely, turns around rolls her eyes and walks off.
Then the manager Octavio comes out and let me just say he looked like he wanted to quit his job right then and there and tells me how can I help I’m like ive been waiting out here for my order and now I’m being told there is no spicy tenders why? And he was like well we didn’t have any and I’m like but why wasn’t I told that when I was originally at the window and she asked me to park? And he says ”I DONT KNOW” I said What? Well maybe you need to talk to your workers and find out why because now that’s causing a problem. Then he says “ I do have them! Do you want to wait or not?” And I was like well first time told you don’t have them and now you you have them? I’m confused and he just said “her and I have been the only 2 workers since 8am! Do you want to wait or not?” I’m like well I don’t have a choice but it’s obvious you don’t care about my concerns. So I told him I’d wait and asked for his name.
After waiting for my food he brought it out and they still ended up messing up my order by giving me red beans and rice instead of mashed potatoes. Lucky I was able to catch Kayla at the door because as I said you can’t go inside to the lobby and the line was pretty long. But once I told her they gave me the wrong thing she never once apologized. Neither of them never once apologized for anything. 1 for forgetting about me 2 for saying they didn’t have something but then ended up having it just had to come it and 3 getting my order wrong after all it and NEVER SAYING, I APOLOGIZE!!!! Read moreI do like Popeye's. The North 5th location is convenient and not as busy as the Craig Road Popeye's. On my visit, it was a Saturday at about 3:20 pm. I chose to go into the restaurant and place my order. I waited only a few seconds and was greeted and assisted by a young man at the counter. He was extremely helpful and 'patient' as I asked questions about the menu items and the new desert Beignet's. My order was made and I watched as another female representative placed my items in a bag. I had made a request of extra sauces and a side of their gravy. The gravy was an additional cost on which I paid. The person preparing my bag had a conversation (which I could clearly hear) about the number of sauces I requested. I felt important to let the representative know that I was willing to pay for anything deemed above limit. She didn't respond to me and handed me my bag. I drove away thinking I had all my food items. Unfortunately, my order was lacking an item. I had to drive back to the store only to be questioned that the item I had requested and paid for (side of gravy) was not given as an alone side. I showed her my receipt to indicate that the item was paid for and on my receipt. Fortunately the manager did intervene and showed the young lady that it was on the register and could be purchased as a side. At this time, I ordered another item and the same young lady ensured that my items were given to me when completed. I agree that sometimes the customer isn't always right, but if not sure on the customers needs; don't disagree with the customer, but check first. Read moreWorst experience EVER! I used the app to order because the drive-thru had TWENTY FiVe cars. Wow. I was shocked. They are new... Anyhoo, I come to pick up the order and the door is locked, with a note on the door, "No indoor dining." Gee thanks! That is of no help. People see me standing there and completely ignore me. FOR 10 minutes. I call the store. No answer. I was my arms, and knock. Finally, 15 minutes in, a lady comes out. I explain. She says they are not using the app yet. I say I am, so why not have a message on the app or turn off your location, or a note on the door, or answer the door, or something, because this is ridiculous. I say all of this as kindly as I can and then I explain I have never been to a Popeye's and this is my first experience. She was unfazed in general, but generally nice. She asked what I ordered and said she would obtain my items. I felt positive.
SHE NEVER RETURNED
So, 10 minutes later I started all over again, waving, knocking, etc. Finally, a different person surfaced, and asked me what I was doing there since the dining room is closed. Argh! I asked if anyone mentioned I was out here, as I talked to someone already, told my story again, yada yada...
She promised to get my food. I put my foot in the door and said, "Wait, the other lady said that. It is not that I don't trust you, but I am nearly 30 minutes into a very simple transaction here. Will you return?" She said, "Yes, I promise.
She did, 3 minutes later. That is all the whole thing would have originally taken! I ordered an iced tea and small nuggets, a la carte. That is it. No meal.
