Would give 0 stars if I could. I have always loved coming here but the service and mistakes have been constantly bad over the past month. I ordered lunch for a group on 3 of the past 4 Saturdays spending well over $200 between all visits. All 3 of my group orders were wrong and I chalked it up to COVID and the how busy they've been in general as of late. I said nothing about any of these orders. Today I ordered twice, once for lunch for a group and then again for dinner. When I arrived to pick up my dinner and after I had paid over the phone, I was informed that previous to my phone order, they had run out of one of the items I ordered and failed to tell me over the phone. The girl was very kind and offered to add larger portions of the other meat to compensate for the meat that was no longer available. I was disappointed but not upset. The girl said she was sorry I hadn't been informed earlier. I told her it was ok and not her fault. When I got home, the portions I received were not adjusted as promised. This prompted me to call the store and express my frustration about the past several visits. I was congenial with the lady who answered the phone and she said she'd talk to the manager. She came back to the phone and explained that there was nothing her manager was willing to do unless I drove 30 minutes back to the restaurant to receive what had been promised. This was 35 minutes prior to their closing time. I would have gladly come back another day but that was not given as an option. Her tone changed quickly and I demanded to speak to the manager. I was extremely agitated and admit that I could have said things more diplomatically. I explained the several orders that were wrong recently and the amount I've spent. I told him that I thought his solution was "Bull###" to which he laughed at me, further escalating my frustration. He then explained that because I called him a "S###" that he didn't need to respect me and that I was out of luck then hung up on me. Not only did I never call him that, only referencing that his solution was "Bull###", his combative attitude and abrasive approach leaves much to be desired. I will be filing review here and everywhere else I can as this situation was handled so...
Read moreI have visited this store for a decade and it's sad to see it go downhill in the ways it has. The food is as good as it always has been (though portions seem smaller than previously -- could be inflation or my own perception), but the service is horrible.
I walked in to get food at 12:17. There were two men in front of me, but no others in line. I was able to place my order after only a few moments, but the rice/macaroni salad sat out for 15 minutes before anybody came to dish up the meat.
The lady who arrived after me was quite vocally flustered at how long the service was taking, and the two men ahead of me were making remarks about how slow it was as well.
The worst part of it was the younger man who had scooped the rice and salad just stared at us while we were waiting! He didn't attempt to dish or get anybody to come help, just stared blankly amongst the 4 of us waiting for our food to be released from limbo. I don't know if he was on something or just painfully shy, but it came off very unprofessional.
Finally, the cashier (whom had also been standing around, but did help another individual purchase a gift card while we waited), came over to help. He took care of the two gentlemen, then went back to his post at the register to check them out before staying there, now leaving my food, the following lady's food, and an additional gentleman who had walked in's food in the limbo yet again.
Eventually somebody from the back came up and dished up the meat for myself and the following individuals. A total of 20 minutes to dish up 3 meals (with 15 of that just waiting) is pretty poor, especially considering it wasn't due to a shortage of food, it was either inexperience or incompetent employees.
As I mentioned, the food was great, but the service is ridiculously bad. I really hope they can get the service...
Read moreI feel like I'm part of an abusive relationship with Mo Bettah's. I still love the food, but the changes and service keep deteriorating the experience. They have discontinued one of the sauces, the teriyaki sauce no longer comes in a cup, it is commercially produced and comes in a foil sealed cup. This last time the katsu sauce (which should come with katsu chicken, not have to ask for it every time) was super weird and funky. Yet again, ever since they were acquired by a conglomerate restaurant management company, prices have gone up, changes to orders now have additional fees, they charge for extra sauces, etc. Also this last visit I paid extra to sub out the rice for mac salad, luckily I caught it and they had to fix it. Also, it was during dinner time and the only thing that didn't have an additional 6+ minute wait for them to make more was the pork.
I left a poor review for the south location in the valley and they responded by saying to email, but I never got any resolution from them. They post the email to save face publicly, but the sweeping changes they are making are done regardless of customer feedback. If you look up the parent company, they have a HUGE team of executives, so the price increases and cost savings they are applying I am sure are paying the salaries of those individuals. RIP Mo Bettah's...
