Feel like I fortunately but barely dodged food poisoning today and from no thanks to the people making the food I got. This was my first time trying sweeto burrito again after it reopened. It wasn't anything special beforehand but I naively hoped it would change somewhat for the better as it used to be okay albeit overpriced and slow but enough to eat and above edible, tho still mid most times. Consistently mid or worse with a rare good meal during off-hours.
Update mid-review so you can know what you might experience if you decide to ignore this and go try it yourself. Barely dodging food poisoning has turned into nausea, fever and maybe dodging full-on food poisoning. To return to how this place is now after reopening, it is still slow and overpriced for the portions but honestly, doesn't bother me. It's fast food and I never went there after the first time while expecting less than 20-30 minutes or if I was in a rush to go anywhere, it was always slow no matter the amount of people or size of my order. Literally, even if I was the sole customer ordering one item.
I'm feeling regrettably sick atm so let me just say here, the food was a 4.5-5.5 outta 10, diff parts undercooked, overcooked, it was messy due to being poorly wrapped and hard to eat in any clean fashion but I wished it was just a bit worse to alert me that I should've totally avoided it/trashed it as it didn't smell or taste 'off'. I was starving and it just seemed like I wouldn't buy again. Now I wouldn't eat that again if someone paid me 30x what I just paid. I agree with a previous review that they seem preoccupied with talking amongst themselves & prob messing around until they finally tell you how much you owe with the price of your meal being the sole thing they communicate but this once again, doesn't and never bothered me, it's fast food, I used to work fast food and tho they are definitely substandard (even in context) I get it and I don't care.
If they're going to be distracted, focused only on their phone or whatever convo they're having and doing work as they please at a snail's pace, whatever, if I only felt offended with how ridiculously bad it can be and is, I would've just chose to not return. How they crossed the line is when they are so bad and have such a lack of respect of food handling, service & basic sense of understandable meal preparation in general that they actually disrespectfully provided me with a meal like I had today. I would've much rather they kept my money & told me they're too busy, bored or that they'd rather not make my food because they just don't feel like it which I understand was the case but I didn't receive this honesty.
Now I don't know health code specifics but instead of transparency, I heard the total price and after giving my card, it was returned to me with ridiculously greasy & oily gloves on that one may assume were the same ones that were used to make my food (they don't address you at the window before so I have no idea what went on or who was where). Yes, gloves for food prepping being used to take customers cards, cash and use the cash register & POS. Whilst being in no state to handle anything let alone food and should've already been disposed of by that point. That was the only red flag I got and should've known better then and there as I stopped to wipe my card down two or three times and grab my bag of torturous trash. This review states all ups and downs and we only had cons up til now but due to the max limit of how trash I can express this place is, I'll just say fries were dece, that's about it & if you're actually wanting to have something possibly edible there, you're only gonna be safe with the fries as I doubt they'd easily serve those in the poisoned state I got my burrito in but if anyone could do that, it'd have to be them. Zero trust afforded and you can bet you will receive no respect yourself nor will the food you're buying.
Summary: Go to the Walmart in the next parking lot over and eat cold opened pet food or better yet, expired raw meat and you will still get a...
Read moreWanted to try this place out. Been twice now. Once dine in and one drive through.
With dining in, I placed more order and then waited 23 minutes as I notice 1-2 people who ordered after me getting their food. I went up and asked when my food would be ready. One of the workers who took my order looked confused and asked me what I ordered. I then told them and they said they gave it to somebody else. They made it for me real quick. No discount or anything to make up for the wasted time (25+ minutes) waiting for my food. As I ate the burrito, which was pretty good, I was also disappointed to find some cartilage in the chicken, a rather large chunk at that.
I decided to give them a second shot and get some tots and two burritos through the drive thru. When ordering, I asked some questions about what the worker preferred or what people like the most. His responses were not really helpful and he seemed annoyed or frustrated that I was even asking. After taking my order I waited about 10 minutes behind two cars, then pulled up to the window. I waited an additional 8 minutes before they came to the window. No checking in to take payment or to say it would be another 7-8 minutes. When I received the food, the tots were cold (but tasted pretty good). The two burritos were good, but were drowned in sauce to the point that was a significant portion of the volume of...
Read moreWhat the hell happened? This place used to be great, and now it's fallen so far... Back when they were still a gut truck you'd get a solid burrito for around ~$10, food quality was always good and the flavors were unique in a great way. I was happy when they finally took off and got their own store, but it only went downhill after that. It started off with the prices going up, disappointing but understandable. My issue wasn't just that, on the other hand, it was the fact that the proportions were substantially getting smaller. I remember the day I went in, sat down and got my burrito, it was bland, cold, and absolutely disgusting. Tossed it. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, tried it again later, yet this time in spite of it being warm it was just as flavorless, lifeless. Tossed it again. It was so obvious in fact that the place ended up closing down. So after their reopening I ended up swinging by with a few friends that wanted to try it out, I thought maybe if they've got the gall to do it again it ought to be making up for their mistake. Well, obviously not, as it tasted just the same, went home and realized later just how big of a mistake it was when I ended up in the bathroom for a few hours. Should've stayed closed, feels like we've...
