Famous Andy's Pizzeria — Restaurant in North Myrtle Beach

Update to my review as of 1/13/2024. Since my original review I have been here many times. First it was because their cheese steaks which it seems many people feel the same way. At some point I tried their pizza.. Now that's my new found! Something about their Pizza reminds me of home something I ate when I was younger growing up maybe a bar pie from this place me and my mom used to frequent. But it is awesome. I love their little slices. Just greasy enough to remind you it's good pizza. Usually has a good crust on the bottom. Is there pizza is definitely in my top three possibly number 1 right now in the area.!

Old review I am rating this 4 stars based upon the cheese steak being 5 stars that I went there solely to get todaynie. And the other aspects of the place being 3 stars or less.

I have never eaten at this restaurant before. I've actually never noticed it before (I will get to that in a minute). My cousin brought home a cheese steak from there yesterday, I tried a bite and immediately I was surprised how good it was. Different than others, very soft and creamy texture. I definitely wanted to get my own sandwich. So, I rode out there today, and even though it's right on RT 17 south, in a very busy area, it was difficult to pinpoint (even with google maps as my navigator) where exactly it was.. Its in a small strip building in front of a much larger strip mall. It's in the front corner unit, somewhat rundown looking/needs some serious updating. There's pretty much no way to tell that it's famous Andy's from the front or side. I couldn't notice any signage whatsoever. The Only one is on the top of the rundown street sign for that shopping center. Cheese Steak was great👌 12" hoagie roll cooked and chopped Onions, maybe mushrooms, I asked for no green peppers on my, cheese of course, and they add mayo in it which gives it a creamy texture. I have not tried any other menu items. Cheese steak...

This was one of my go to places, everytime I was in Myrtle Beach ⛱! The first time I ordered here was about 3 years ago. The food was good and service was always average. This trip the food was not good. I ordered 2x this trip. The 1st order I got I got philly cheesesteaks, wings, and some other things. The 2nd order I got 2 orders of wings on New Year's Eve. When I got back to the resort and open the wings they were burnt I tasted them they did not taste anything like the first order I had gotten a few days ago. And they definitely did not taste anything like the 1st order I ever placed with him. I call the location because I had went and picked up this food. Which I was a little frustrated about because we were in distance to get delivery and they did not want to deliver to the location so now I had to burn gas in the rain to take them back burnt food. I've stayed in resorts that were further and they delivered to them so I don't know what the problem was this time. So when I go back to the restaurant she claims that it is the seasoning that's why the wings look like that. The wings were burnt and smelled burnt. She's like the wings are always like this it the seasoning. I tell her no there not I just ordered from you guys 2 days ago and none of my food was burned and nasty. She refund us our money and they were not nice about it. I recommend that you stay away from this place as it seems that over the years the quality of food and the lack of customer service just keeps...

My FAVORITE GO TO IN NORTH MYRTLE!! My family has been going there every "beach trip" since I was knee high to a Grasshopper! Now, I'm taking my own kids to Famous A's.... HANDS DOWN BEST PHILLY YOU CAN GET IN THE SOUTH, ESPECIALLY IN MYRTLE BEACH!! THIS IS AUTHENTIC "PHILLY" STYLE FOOD!! If you don't like mayo, or A LOT of marinara YOU NEED TO LET THEM KNOW!! REAL Philly's come with MAYO People!! ...If you just give it a try, you will like!!! PHILLY PEEPS use a lot of sauce on their Pies/Pizza, so if that's not your thing, go light on the sauce! Personally, Famous A's isn't my FAVORITE for Pizza, but if YOU WANT A HECK OF A GOOD PHILLY CHEESECAKE... GO TO ANDI'S!! IT IS A LITTLE HARD TO FIND! Due to the fact it's in a very small strip area, that is surrounded by a lot of newer stores... But, the way I always remember exactly where it is, is by following the GPS and the entrance is at the same intersection on the corner across from the Putt Putt place!! If you enter that way, you are right by the drive-thru! BTW.... Did I mention they have a drive-thru?! I would highly suggest calling in your order, and going through the drive through to pick up, usually pretty fast service, extremely nice staff! Bonus-- They do ALSO deliver! Prices are really good, Phillies are amazing! I highly suggest you check this place out on one of your lowkey nights in North...
