The restaurant had a nautical theme. Table tops were seafood themed pictures and the lighting was a bit dim...intimate vibe. The service was friendly. Our server came around quickly and was attentive. All dishes were great. Prices were a bit higher than anticipated for a seafood place. We ordered calamari for an appetizer, it was so good I couldn't get a photo of it before it was gone. Light batter with parmesan shredded cheese as an unexpected twist, fresh lemon, and marinara sauce on the side to dip. One cup of She Crab soup was ordered, the two in the party who tasted it said it had some sweeter nutmeg like qualities. The girl child had the kids meal with fried shrimp and french fries. The adults LOVED the fries...hand cut and seasoned with old bay! The boy child ordered the crab cake sandwich with fries. This crab cake was good, crispy on the outside and cooked perfectly. The bun was a nice touch. One blackened grouper entree was ordered and came with steamed veggies and baked potato. The filet portion was large and had good seasoning. One shrimp and scallops steamer thingy with the wine herb and garlic butter sauce, they also added parmesan cheese. Shrimp were cooked great and the scallops were cooked good...a few tough spots on the outside of a couple...but the scallops were sweet and tender in the middle. The customer crowd picked up a bit when we were trying to pay.

Arrived early afternoon. It was a little chilly in there, so kept my jacket on. Commented about it to young, disinterested bartender and she said, "it's always cold in here.". Okay, got it! Hubby kept his coat on & had an oyster shooter. Unremarkable. He had a Yuengling. I had a glass of house wine. I ordered She Crab soup. It was fairly underseasoned. Salt didn't help much. Found 2 shell pieces, & that's okay with me. The real deal! Ordered two steam pots & fried corn on the cob. Pot with crawfish & Old Bay was fine, except crawfish were MINISCULE. Hubby said we need to go to McDonald's after this!! NK!!!! Corn was unremarkable. Other steam pot of shrimp & scallops with herbs, wine & butter with pasta was significantly underseasoned. Flavorless, really. Tried to bring it to life with some salt & fresh squeezed lemon, to no avail. Nothing helped. Waitress was inexperienced, & gave a sad smile in response to said complaint about the latter. Basically zero attention from either bartender or waitress beyond the basic requirements necessary. Bartender seemed preoccupied with catching up with behind bar duties, as there were probably 3 people in there when we initially arrived. Such a letdown!! The pic looks so good, but NOT 🚫

This is by far our favorite sea food restaurant. It's largely a local place where families and friends come to dine or just have a drink at the bar. They have some beef dishes on the menu for those in your party that don't appreciate great seafood. I recommend their grouper, which is my favorite fish dish. They also have fresh lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams and of course oysters. There is no smells of fish, so you know as soon as you walk in, you know this establishment knows how to run a great seafood restaurant. It's very busy between 6 and 7 pm, but you can usually get a table quickly in the off season. This is one of the few restaurants we make multiple visits to when we come to Myrtle Beach. The bar has the most comfortable seating, padded chairs that remind us of the high end chair you find on deep sea fishing boats. The staff is great and most have worked there for years. I can't say enough great things about this place.

We arrived here for dinner behind a group of 26 people. They spent literally 10 minutes talking to the person seating people as to how long it would take their party to get seats if they decided to wait? I heard the gentleman tell them it's a small place, we can get you all in but not together! The ladies proceeded to question him further about time frames and seating.... eventually they left to go elsewhere. The kid then looked at us and walked away? A young lady eventually returned and asked how many in our party, 5 adults and 2 children. She said you can wait outside and I'll come get you when the table is ready, it should be about 45 minutes. We waited outside in the hit 88* sun with the kids, there is no shade it's on the side of the building in direct sun surrounded by asphalt. Thirty five minutes went by and we asked if we could at least have a seat at the bar and get some drinks... NO it's not allowed they said you can't go from the bar to a table! At least we asked for a glass of water for the 4 year old, whi was dehydrated from a day at the beach like the rest of us. After an hour and ten minutes I was ready to leave but the rest of the family wanted to wait it out. We were finally seated and placed an order for water... took 10 minutes for us to get 7 glasses of water? Food was just ok, order wasn't correct due to the fact, I believe, when the waitress was taking our orders a young man walked up behind her, interrupting us and said here's you hushpuppies! She placed them on the table then went back to taking our order!! Terrible experience definitely won't be back! Waitress was the only positive point...

Our visit to Rockefeller’s Raw Bar was somewhat disappointing, to say the least. We didn’t mind waiting to be seated, but we stood there for about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us, despite plenty of open tables. It seemed like there were only two staff members working..handling both the bar and waiting tables, which made the service understandably slow.

It took a long time for our waiter to take our order, and the food took quite a while to come out. Unfortunately, the food was just average and not really worth the wait. That said, our waiter, although clearly overworked, was very pleasant and kind throughout the experience.

One positive moment was that my partner ordered six oysters, but they ended up giving him twelve at no extra charge and even packed the extras to go, which we appreciated. Those actually came out pretty quickly. Also, the burger my mother-in-law ordered was surprisingly good.

Overall, I don’t think the service was bad, it was simply a case of the restaurant being very understaffed for the amount of guests they had. We visited around 1:30 PM. The location is great, about 10 minutes from the beach and right across from the Barefoot RV Resort, which makes it very convenient.

Unfortunately, I don’t think I would return based on...
