We were staying at the hotel next door, so it's convenient and we went there several nights for pool. The food is good, but you're going to pay at least 15 for anything you get. They make up for it by forgetting to put drinks on your tab 50% of the time. (We had over 10 mixed drinks the night before and tabbed out at $32, we tipped well though) You're always going to want to send the loudest person in the group to get the drinks, because if you're not sitting at the bar, you might as well not exist. It was nearly impossible to get anyone's attention at the bar.. Up until the last night we enjoyed it, it's your typical dive bar with overpriced bar food. The last night we were there, we were finishing up our last game of pool (we had 5 balls left on the table) we had 12 minutes left until close, so we were respectfully trying to finish the game quickly. None of us were drunk, the bar was still completely packed with rambunctious screaming people, and the owner (im guessing) came up to our table and did a shooing motion with his hands. My dad was confused and asked him what he meant, and if we were getting kicked out, why (my dad wasn't aware that they closed at 11, the bars in TN close at 3) the guy said, "yall have to get out, were closing, everyone's got to go" My brother asked if we had time to finish the game and the guy said "mother f** no." And went on a five minute rant about if we don't leave right that instant, then he would lose his bar lisence, drivers lisence, wouldn't be able to take his daughter to school, etc. We literally couldve finished the game in the time that he was going off on his tangent. We all understood, we were getting our stuff together and some of our group was already out of the door and he continued going off. Again, we weren't upset about having to leave, my parents have owned bars and bike rallies, they know how it goes, and we know that they've probably been dealing with inebriated people all night, but the way that he presented his message was flat out rude and unacceptable. If you own a business, give the same respect to your customers that you would like them to give you. We went there three nights in a row, we never caused trouble, we would buy our drinks and play pool and darts, we kept to ourselves and cleaned up after ourselves. There was no reason for the disrespect. I will say, the best worker we met there was a female with black hair, she was hanging up spider webs and heard us contemplating what we were going to do next, and took her time to pull up live music venues and give us suggestions. I hope that the owner is much more respectful to his crew than he is to...
Read moreI normally don’t leave reviews, but our experience here was so terrible that I feel compelled to share. I dined with four of my girlfriends, and from the moment we sat down, it was clear our server, Lisa (who identified herself as the assistant manager), didn’t want to serve us. Whether it was prejudice or an assumption that we wouldn’t tip, the energy was obvious.
Lisa came to our table twice throughout the entire meal, while we watched her repeatedly check on other tables. We didn’t receive any drink refills, and when my food came out cold and unappetizing, Lisa was nowhere to be found. I had to go inside and track her down just to place a to-go order.
When I returned to the table, Lisa showed up—for the third time—only to start clearing plates. I asked to speak with a manager, and she told me the manager was “on a conference call” and couldn’t step away. Then, a man (who never identified himself) came over, handed us the bill and my to-go order, and threatened to call the police if we didn’t pay and leave. All for simply asking to speak with a manager?
Magically, the manager suddenly became available after that. Instead of de-escalating, she was just as disrespectful. She offered to “take care” of my food—but I made it clear that the poor treatment affected all of us, not just me. Her response? “What are you looking for, free food?”—completely unprofessional and insulting.
I declined the offer, paid with my AMEX, and left. She did end up giving us 20% off—but then included gratuity on all our checks, which felt manipulative given the lack of service.
Lisa, if you happen to read this—you could’ve walked away with a generous tip and happy customers. Instead, your dismissive attitude and the overall management response made sure we’ll...
Read moreI know people love this place for the atmosphere, the bar and because they think this is real Irish food, it's not. I read a review before I tried this place, it was a bad review complaining about the food having no flavor, I still wanted to try the corned beef, I'm here to confirm it had no flavor, it was absolutely flavorless and overpriced. Of course with me picking up my order from the bar I felt obligated to leave some amount of tip, I got 1 open face sandwich with fries and paid a little over 26.
The worst part is my wife and I split the half sandwich, I'm going to call it that because it looked like half a sandwich missing the other piece of bread. Anyways, my wife got the worst case of food poisoning of her life, we later, meaning late tonight found out it was caused from seafood which we did not order, we had the sandwich, that was the only meal in the past 36 hours. At the ER she was tested and had trace amounts of seafood, wherever the food was stored it had came into contact with some sort of seafood causing my wife to almost die. The hospital helped us file complaint with the food safety office however I felt necessary to post here where I seen the bad review in hopes someone else like me sees it and decideds not to try it.
Good luck if you fail...
