Wings and Rings — Restaurant in North Port

There were 4 of us (Saturday night at 630pm) and we sat in the bar area. My husband and I waited for our friends- for a Saturday night they were not very busy. The bar was maybe 5 people and the bartender was our waitress. When our friends came they asked her about the specials board - her response “oh I have no idea”. “But you can read that 1 on the table”. It was with an attitude of not wanting to be bothered. It took her more than 20 minutes to take our order- it seemed she’d rather talk and chit chat with her coworkers. She finally came took our order and then our friend asked for a glass of water- she brought it back half turned to the table slammed the water down and walked away again as she delivered the water it was chitchatting with a coworker. Our food came - delivered by kitchen staff- she never came to see if everything came out ok or to see if we needed anything else. After 25 minutes of food being delivered still not around and my husband needed another soda. She claimed she had to wash dishes - she claimed she was doing a lot (mind you they were well staffed and we never said anything with being displeased. It took another 23 minutes before I had to go to the bar and ask for the check. We are all about tipping and giving what’s deserved - we didn’t leave a good tip. We had to get silverware ourselves. We have lived in this area for 10 years. This place was a go to every 6months or so because it’s gone downhill since we first visited this location many years back. We usually visit the Port Charlotte location, but decided to try here because its closer to home. Big mistake. I ordered tenders with garlic parmesan. When I got my order it did not taste like garlic parmesan and the sauce was orange. It looked like the just put buffalo sauce with a sprinkle of parmesan on them. Very disappointing. Garlic parm is a yellow or gold, not orange, and has a strong garlic butter taste. Also, UFC was on FOX that evening and I asked them to switch the channel. Fifteen minutes went buy before after repeated request the manager finally went over to switch the channel. Either he didn't know how to change the channel or the equipment was malfunctioning. So we couldn't see the UFC and had to leave and take our food home. I spoke to the manager on the way out and let him know about our experience. I would have demanded that they remake my tenders as ordered but we were missing the UFC now and had to go. No explanation at all. No "I'm going to get our remote fixed" and no effort whatsoever to make it right. The manager seemed to have no communication skills or experience dealing with a customer complaint. And he can't even change the channel on the TVs. Are you telling me that no one comes in all week and wants a channel changed? And if they do, no one knows how to do it? Wow this place was sooooo good! I got a soft pretzel & queso appetizer with 10 traditional wings. I'm not even a pretzel person but I thought the pretzel bites were delicious and cooked perfectly. The queso was some of the best I have ever had, even better than Moe's queso. We are talking about real cheese here, none of that fake stuff.

The parmesan garlic wings were cooked perfectly and a good size. Not tiny wings, they had plenty of meat on them! I think Buffalo Wild Wings has a better parm garlic sauce but the wings themselves are about the same as far as quality and size go. This place has homemade blue cheese sauce. Its delicious, best blue cheese I've ever had!

I got a side order of onion rings. They were the best onion rings I've ever had! They appeared to be homemade.

My gf got a burger with aioli fries. I had some of the fries. They were delicious!

Service was fast and friendly. Waitress thought it was happy hour but it was not so she happily didn't charge me for the soda I had ordered to make up for the disappointment, no problem.

This place has plenty of TV's to watch your favorite team and seemed clean.

The only negative about this place is the booths are extremely uncomfortable! I don't know who thought designing wooden booths with no padding would be a good idea!
